Awesome video as always. My Sifu is always reminding me that i have not connected with the other persons center with a technique. I need apply what you are talking about and connect with the dummy's center during my training. This should help improve my lack of connection.

This is a great video, I like to sum it up and ask myself “how can I use my understanding of mass, to put their mass in the most advantageous position for me?” And then if there’s a blockage, how do increase my understanding of mass to create more advantages? On a side note, you mentioned head butting at the end. How would you develop more power in a headbutt? 🤔

Yes, exactly, that's a great way to practice as it will enable you to produce power and affect the opponent with less brute force. As for the headbutt, through this practice, we really interconnect the body by opening up (decompressing) the joints and so the joints of the spine and neck become very active and we have immense stability in the spinal column. This means we can both withstand and produce a lot of power at the spine/neck. There is a striking video I posted from a couple of years ago in which I demonstrated a short range headbutt of someone's shoulder...

I mentioned my Sifu, Tod Wright in another comment. You have asked about him before and i mentioned that he trained under Gary Lam. On the 26 of November (3 days from now) he has scheduled 3 hours to work with you at your school. He is looking forward to working the internal aspects of Wing Chun and comparing how he makes the connection to the center with your understanding. Your videos always give us a new perspective and he applies his way of thinking like an engineer to it so he can better explain the techniques to his students. It will be very cool to see what he learns from his visit to your school.

Yes it's a good idea to not mystify any of the practice and keep it real and down to earth. Unfortunately, many in the internal martial arts like to mystify things and say everything is Chi. I try to keep away from that as it certainly doesn't help the students understanding and 99% of the time what they say is Chi is not... The machine/robot in the back is called STRYK USA. A fun little machine which is good for reflex. One of my students is the founder of the company.

How many different vectors of forces you use in the CST method in the wooden dummy?

It depends on the movement but always more than one

been so good having him here and 3 weeks flew by. Today is his last day here. He had a great improvement during his visit so you should try to catch up with him soon when he gets back to Germany while it's still all fresh in his mind and body 👊
