I come back to this video every once and a while and it never fails to give me goosebumps. Your musicality is absolutely astounding. You can really hear when someone is sharing their soul, and you are doing just that, a true musician. Needless to say, your dynamics and timing are impeccable. You get so many sounds out of the instrument and they are so full of passion. And the composition itself is colorful and captivating. I love listening to you play. Thank you for sharing the fruits of your labor, your art with us, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it. It’s inspired and touched the hearts of many. Much love

I love the pluck-n-hammer technique, and your use of the dampers. Great tune, too! It’s incredible how many different sounds you can pull from the instrument. Reminds me a bit of Tommy Emmanuel’s manipulations of his guitar.

This is the song that introduced you to me. I remember typing "dulcimer" on youtube and one of the videos was from another channel who recorded you playing this and much later I found your full version and I'm a subscriber since 😁 One thing I really like is you playing with a hand making chords and the hammer on the other, I like when they use both but those chords you did with your hand caught my attention since I first headed this song, would love seeing more videos of you using a hammer and your hand in the future, it feels very special

Beautiful music! I've always loved hammered dulcimers because they sound like a whole orchestra and look so fun to play. And being a stringed instrument player who also loves the feel of playing with mallets/hammers, this instrument seems like one worth giving a try! The only problem is hammered dulcimers cost a lot, so I'll probably have to save up for a while. Hammered dulcimers are underrated instruments that have so much potential. Great job, and hope to see more!

Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I'm only slightly biased, but I think the hammered dulcimer is the coolest thing in the world. When/if the day arrives that you'd like to buy a hammered dulcimer, please reach out to me: JoshuaMessick.com -- I wish you all the best.

Love it. In my mind, Woodland Dance has become synonymous with the hammered dulcimer. It's the first song I think of when I see the instrument, so seeing a new performance of it is weirdly nostalgic. Great work!

Wow. Breathtaking. I subscribed to you when I found your Woodsong Wanderlust piece, months back. I'm glad to hear your works again. There's just something mystical about the hammered dulcimer. Your music inspires creativity. Thank you for sharing this. And I read the comments and went to find the original video of this song, and I'm not sure if it was but I found the version with the percussion and the cello. Beautiful. Never stop creating.

I'm listening in Japan. I'm a big fan of yours. I also subscribe to channels. This song is my favorite song with "Desire for Departure". Please do another performance in Japan. When I came to Japan last time, I did not know you yet. I look forward to hearing your performances live. (Because I do not understand English, I converted it with a translation software, was that OK?)
