I've been playing and performing for 27 years and you just taught me how to correct the 5th intervals on the treble bridge for the first time. Somehow it was a blind spot for me all those years. Thanks for a great video, you never stop learning...

Oh wow! I’ve never seen a dulcimer in the wild!! I had no idea they grow in fields! 😂😂 Full disclosure, this music made me cry. This was the first time I ever heard a dulcimer - in this video. Because of this video, I am now shopping for dulcimers, and going to take lessons. Thank you for introducing me to this enchanting sound!

LOL I've had my hammered dulcimer since early 2000s and barely played. wanted to start back and first thing I did was order 2 pair of hammers - had about 7 pari in the cart but they're pricey so figured i'd better start with less. I actually bought a nice pair back when I first got the dulcimer but turned my back 2 seconds and my lab ate them. made me so sick

Please play the right side. The bass. of mine has no way to tune. Trying to get reference. Love the hammer selections. How do they sneak a guitar pick in that one?

How many hours would you say it would take to get a quarter as good as this? I would love to start learning to play, but i have a lot of doubt that i could even get a quarter as good as this.
@JoshuaMessickАй бұрын
Learning any instrument takes time, but getting started is the most important step! The hammered dulcimer, especially at a beginner level, is quite approachable. With consistent practice-even just a few hours each week-you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can make progress. Focus on enjoying the journey and discovering your own unique style along the way. If you’re passionate, every hour you invest will feel incredibly rewarding!

You are gifted. Do you teach? I never learned music as a kid - so I learned bansuri (Indian bamboo flute ) at 32. One of the best things I did in my life. Dropped it after two years - life too busy. Now at 60 I pledge to Learn dulcimer by 63 latest. Music is core to being human for me.
