Nice video Michael, I really like the calming effect that photographing woodlands have. Even if you don't get the shot. I remember when I was stationed in Germany we would go out on training exercises and forests were so dense that at night you had to walk with your hand in front of your face so as not to smash it into a tree. Beautiful country, and great beer and wine as well. I was stationed by Oppenhiem and Nierstein, 1972-1974.

Great shot, Michael. 'Breathing on the lens', that's the best trick I've ever seen. And here's me waiting for a misty day, when now I can have one every day ! Thanks for that and I'm enjoying your vlogs too.

Hello Geoff, thanks. Well it's not quite the same, because the effect of fog intensifies the farther away objects are in the frame. Breathing on the lense creates this effect on all elements, also the closer elements. But the softening is still quite nice and if you combine it with a normal exposure and do some masking in Photoshop, then you can get a little closer to how real fog looks. I just like the dreamy look it creates

One of the things that i have noticed on other KZbin photographers, is that after they became popular, they started to shoot horrible images, just to be able to produce a video. Watching this video, it shows how carefully you pick your locations, take your time, and product a photograph and not a picture. Many of the if not most of the youtube photographers just to take pictures, and completely forgot to produce photographs. Nice work man! always a learning experience watching your videos.

I think the thing a photographer has to be carefull of when he starts youtube it that he primarily goes out to take a good photograph and not to record a video where the photo becomes the by-product. I will try to keep the balance here :-)

The tip at 6:45 blew my mind. I never thought or heard of this before.

Not as good as real fog, but something to experiment with :-)

Such an awesome feeling to walk into a random spot and have the sun help you out like that. Had to feel great! Thanks for the tip about breathing on the lens! You’re the first person I’ve seen use that as a tool. Keep up the great work!

Michael another good one.. I see you are having the same problem that I had.. The outer insulation on your cable relase looks to be split where it meets the body of the release.. like you I initially taped it up but found that this did not last long,, so I opened the body of the release and re-wired it.. it meant I lost around 2" off the length but it still works fine.. well done.!

Hello Roy, actually I have this tape there for 6 years now and it's holding :-) I applied it thickly in advance. I looks ugly but it works ok. I do this with nearly all my cables.

Unfortunately I didn't record more vlogs. But there will be another video including all the photos I took and some impressions of Rome when I finished editing all the stuff. I have some footage from the Vatican, the Pantheon and much more areas of this wonderful city.
