I had never heard of a grasstree. Beautiful results! I even liked the natural color and I think it would make beautiful turnings too! Great job with the dinosaur foot!

Wow. What an interesting grain. It kind of reminds me of snake skin. I noticed it didn’t put of curly wood chips but dust when you turned it. It’s a different kind of wood it seems. It’s a lovely vase

Very nice as a sculpture! If you made a hole all the way into the centre this would make a nice natural acoustic sound horn to amplifi the sound of your iPhone, like on the old gramophones. I would love to have something like that in my living room.

I like the natural color of the wood before you put the finish that made it darker. For me it took away from its natural beauty. But that's just me, I don't know if anyone else felt that way.

I agree .. I've turned a few of these and tried various finishes unfortunately they always turn darker even with a clear lacquer they also get darker with age I suppose its just the nature of the wood .. cheers

I'm in Western Australia with one of these in the shed looking for a home. It's 320mm dia and 1.2m long, heavy too. Wish I had a wood lathe!
