Maple always seems to come out showing a great finish, I love the grain, mind you your sanding and polishing helps a lot. It's a lovely piece 👌

Look great, Sam, love it! I think that piece of brown-ish wood is Iroko. I've used it once before and that's what it looks like. (not positive, but that's my guess).

Hi Clive, found out it was iroko yes 👍 It was really nice to turn. no my lathes headstock does not turn unfortunately. Will be the one thing I will be looking for when I get my second lathe 👍👍

Twisted Crafts UK no worries mate I thought it was iroko and shame I was looking into upgrading to the same lathe as yours but I have no room in my little shed my record power has a swivel head which gives me that little bit of wriggle room lol 😂 happy turning buddy keep uploading 👍👍

Lovely piece. I'm making something similar atm from spalted birch only smaller. I'm not videoing it though as it'll be my first hollow form and I'm still learning how to hollow. btw did you buy your carbide tools or make your own ? 🙂
