Welcome to the channel. I do leave in the catches and like you say, show you how to deal with them. Everyone gets catches but most take those out of the video. It's about knowing why you got a catch, that is important, so you can avoid doing the same thing. With over 40 years experience a small catch doesn't bother me. Thanks for your lovely comment. Totally agree with you about changing jaws you can soon bugger up the tiny screws changing a chuck is so much easier keep chatting !!

Wow, a chatty long video just for me wata guy😁. You had me laughing watching the video, really enjoyed it. I got started with Vicmarc chucks and they took it one step further. Their jaws for the Vm100 will not fit on the Vm120, they make you buy a whole new set of jaws. I can see why you have so many chucks. As a production turner you don't want to stop to keep swapping out jaws. I still don't have it straight which jaws are compatible with which chucks.It is funny when I was young I was turning all the time. Now I am old and have a lot of time and a new lathe I just putter around out in the shop. I mean hobby room. My daughter says my room is my hobby. I was checking out how you store you chucks. I could mount those squares of wood you use to some plywood or put French cleats on them for my French cleat wall. will look forward to you next chatty video.

Had the odonnel jaws for long time same reason as you bought them. Great vid Love the mistakes left in Prefer the chat as we learm so much more You also cost me £400+at Axminster on the SK100's lol Prices have gone up by 40p to 50% since the pandemic I bought a lot of jaws pre-pandemic and they were no0t that or as expensive

Yes the Covid period, people had time and extra money due to furlow etc and there was a rise on woodturning stuff being bought, so the main shops put up the prices and then never lowered them. Greed.

Nice one glen cracking little tree and also nice explanation on things. I have a vevor chuck (think it's a cheap chinese style brand ) does me just now but will be getting a rutlands pack of chuck and jaws at some point i think but not sure. Although i think the wood turners and the internet need you to make a glen teagle chuck 🤔🤔👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi Glenn your spot on about poor service from axminster they are giving me the run around about my chucks last week I could have ordered an sk100 and had it the next day but my order which was placed early September can't be delivered it is leaving a bad taste and even me saying don't bother with axminster tools.

That's what I was trying to explain. I wasn't knocking the quality of their product or the manufacturing, it was about the service. If I was you, I would say you want your SK100 now. By the time they get their raw materials to make the SK114, the SK100 will probably be out of stock. Totally up to you. They will not be reserving a SK100 for you in the meantime. Just been told by another Subscriber that they have shut their Warrington and Newcastle stores and was told that they are closing their Cardiff store by another. A company does not close down unless they are experiencing difficulties. I'm glad I got onto them when I did.
