You have a good eye for the sweep of the curves, and a steady hand!

Sweet! I've got to find a wood source somehow for turning. There is a good lumber store about 45 minutes away, but a piece of wood the size of these would be about $5. Thanks for the show.

Someone near you has a cord of firewood for sale for $15, unsplit is best. This is your best source for woodturning. Most firewood is dry enough that it won't split anymore, but you will need to cut it into appropriate sized and shaped pieces. Just be aware of the balance point on any wierd shaped piece or limb with knots that you spin up. It could launch itself and damage a lot of things, including you.

@bradfordprice3781 Thanks. Hadn't thought of that.

@@trahtreboralso after a storm drive around with a battery chain saw The only issue then is the wait time. I just cut a truck load of cherry and pear this last week. I used some left over latex paint to paint the ends and stacked outside. The limbs are a year from working up. The larger limbs trunk I am starting the first turn of twice turned bowls. I also used bandsaw to make some 2×2 piece on each side of pith that are stacked indoors to dry

@johncox8882 Good idea. Ive just retired so I should have time now.

@@trahtrebor Always ask permission before taking/cutting trees/limbs that have fallen into "public" areas. Landowners are a cantankerous lot and may decide the limb is theirs. 2nd Amendment doesn't include an exclusion for people lacking anger management skills.
