Hey Mike, superb bowl. I love the figure and chatoyance. One question for a fellow turner that always struggles on pricing pieces…how much would you charge for that? I am thinking £200-250? Hope you don’t mind me asking.

"Dig " those shavings! (Teenage language a few years back). Timely, Mike ,as I have a 10" oak platter currently" number 3 in the queue". Very nice,and sycamore is my most frequently used wood. Thanks for the revision, I shall try some pyrography on mine. Bernard.

Hi Mike, Beautiful job, and thanks for sharing! One question- from the shavings it looks like the blank was pretty green. Are you concerned about warpage, or was the customer okay with the movement as it dried? I was surprised to see this was once turned. Thanks again! Dan
@MikeWaldt
@MikeWaldt Жыл бұрын
Hi Dan and thank you. In actual fact the blank was kiln dried, so as dry as it will ever be 🙂

Thanks Jonathan. As great as the Pro Edge is I wanted more versatility, so sold it and went back to CBNs and a slow speed grinder.

Seeing all the lovely byproduct from the turning of the inside reminded me of the face that stuffed animal makers of yesteryear used “wood wool” to fill their creations. That would be a great way of finding actual use for all the byproducts of wood turning.

Great bowl. Is there a great deal of difference between a mineral oil finish and the butchers block finish. If there is I will get some butchers block finish.
@MikeWaldt
@MikeWaldt Жыл бұрын
Basically the same but I think the Butchers Block Oil is more refined and contains vitamins too. Thanks for watching and your support Anthony.
