Woodturning | Let's Try This Again!

In this video I turned a maple urn and put the lid on the bottom. I used the Niles threaded rings. The rings work great for urns and lidded boxes.

Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together. We also do a lot of epoxy projects as well as woodturning.

I have the ring and I have the wood but I’ve been putting off the turning. I think I just needed to hear that it would be easier to install the ring before finishing the bottom 😊 In any case, good to have watched this video first!

They are pretty easy to install. I think putting them first is going to speed up the whole process and make it a little bit easier.
