personally I don’t think it is right for anyone else to say what someone else should or could do with their creation. Different if they are copying someone else (getting inspiration etc) but what one person decides is their work is no one else’s business. Would you have suggested to Da Vinci that The Mona Lisa should a smile more or tell Michelangelo to put pants on David.

Welcome back! The vase is beautiful. I've been wondering about other natural materials to put in epoxy - what about pine needles? Or colorful autumn leaves?
@randycosgrove3608 Жыл бұрын
Well done. I've turned a lot of paper inserts in different projects from bowls to pens. I've used epoxy as you do here but I've also gone without it just to see if it would work. Wood glue comes apart when you get the bowl thin but if you turn the outside to final shape and then flood the paper with thin CA you can turn the inside without it coming apart. Then flood the inside and the bowl will be fine. And that's a LOT less expensive. Just my .02 worth.

Ever thought to turn something from the shavings of old projects?? If I’ve learned 1 thing from these videos it’s that you can turn anything with enough resin. But of all the things I’ve seen turned. recycled shavings hasn’t been 1 of them… There’s probably good reason tho lol

Beautiful piece, very creative. How long did you let the resin cure before you put it in between the 2 pieces of wood? Did you use a deep poor resin?
@alancole6912Ай бұрын
Awesome. Can you tell me what material you used as a mold for your resin?
@jfftck Жыл бұрын
Why did you need the extra mold for the resin? I have seen it applied with a brush on many other channels, besides you clamped the two halves and that would have been enough to ensure you have great contact between the layers. The result is beautiful, but I have seen paper and resin before. I enjoyed this piece and would love more resin and paper projects, maybe a burl/burr wood would pop even more.

Looks great, but personally, I would've cut off those corners to round it out a bit before turning it. Would save some time and less wear and tear on your turning tools
