Hello. I’m from the United States. You can use THE. Example: I play football on the weekends. This is 100% correct and natural. At least here. I would use “on weekends” in this scenario. Example: Person 1: Do you cook on The Weekends? Person 2: No, I clean on weekends. With that being said. You can still use Both for that scenario. But saying “I play football on The Weekends” is correct and natural! Happy learning

I will eventually make a video about how to improve listening skills but meanwhile, try and have as much contact with material in English as possible. It is good to always have some English listening material (such as podcasts/apps) on your phone for when you are waiting in line or on public transport. After watching a KZbin video, play the video again but don't look at the screen, only listen to it to see how much you can pick up. There are many more things you can do, though I will include them in a video. Hope that helps for now.
