FYI: Faster to either cut the polymer (plastic film) or light the alcohol and melt it. Thanks for the video.

Never heard of laminated glass! Cool. And a question: looks like you're not using glazing putty this time - curious why, and how you're doing it this time?

Main reason we’re using wood glazing this time is because of the film that binds the two pieces of glass together. I’m afraid the oils in the putty would work to break down the film over time. So basically, these storm windows with wood glazing are made exactly like a shaker style cabinet door. The wood glazing is made from Accoya so it will never rot, and we are also using stainless steel nails to attach the wood glazing.

By way, laminated glass is what most cars use for windshields. If you’ve ever had a rock hit your windshield and it cracked, but didn’t shatter, it’s because there’s two layers of glass in a windshield that are fused together by a flexible, sticky membrane.

Yeah I think it used to seeing the other way but we changed the handing on it and face the ridicule of the braces being the wrong way.
