Is he the son of that famous Klecker couple fr MN? Joe Sr was an intlly famous snow-shoe ultra-marathoner! He once ran a marathon on a broken foot! Classic high-pain threshold runner! And mom, was just a gorgeous runner!

Go Klecker! Besides cheering for Joe, I really like the vide of this meet. I'm watching the overhead cam footage of the train coming into the finish and everyone seems so chill, no tension in the crowd. Must have been an enjoyable experience. It's what I love about athletics overall. We can have these fun meets outside the major championships. Really liking where the sport is going.

Klecker is 6' and Kincaid is 5'10" but they're also built differently. Klecker has long legs, broad shoulders and looks like he could have been a boxer if he had been guided in that direction when he was younger. Kincaid has much shorter legs and a shorter stride. The main thing of course is great conditioning, which both of them have.

Happy for Woody. Klecker is a beast as well! Fun to watch them battle it out. I am also a Conner Mantz fan, so it was great to see him finish near the top.

Realistically, Atkin was never a threat to a Mo Farah record. I don't know why he would be upset Sounds Running didn't list him as a threat to the 26:46 that Farah ran in 2011. Plus, he dropped out. All talk, no action

@@ddhurry4168 actually he did a bad job pacing and to stay in the race means he was more concerned with himself than getting the pacing right. Those 64 high laps should have been 63 highs, especially once they knew they were off pace.
@matthewkelly6012
@matthewkelly6012 Жыл бұрын
@@cber5077 I disagree. He brought them through 13:36 when they wanted 13:30. Not every pacer is Eric Sowinski and brings the field through to within like 0.1 of an 800m split. It gets a lot harder over 5k. Running 13:36 when they wanted 13:30 is a 0.7% error. A similar error through 800m of a 800m of a 1500m where they wanted 1:52.00 would be like running 1:52.83. Also, once they ran a bunch of 65 highs and 66 lows, I don't think Woody or Joe really would have wanted him to start running 2-3 seconds faster and run 63s to try to make up all the time right away. It's a long race. I respect your opinion, though. This is just what I think. I'm also a bit biased because I was there in 2022 at NCAAs when Kioko took the 10000m out and I absolutely will love him forever because of it lol.

@Matthew Kelly totally. If he started throwing out 60s laps to get on planned pace everyone would have gotten blown out.

Why was klecker so mad at woody; was it because woody did come around and lead when Joe asked? Either way, woody still paced him the last 2 laps, so klecker has no one to blame but himself for not losing. My other comment is that despite what the commentators said, the pacing was not good. They were down 6secs at 5k and didn’t make any of that up before stepping off. Kioko especially should have done more considering he stayed in the race!
@matthewkelly6012
@matthewkelly6012 Жыл бұрын
6 seconds off is basically nothing, especially considering the fact that they barely negative split. If they went 13:36 and then 13:20, I would agree that the pacing being 6secs slow actually was detrimental, but the fact they ran 13:36 13:31 seems like basically perfect splits for a 10k. Cheptegei's 10000m world record, Solinsky's 10000m AR were both negative splits (Cheptegei 13:07.73 + 13:03.27; Solinsky 13:34.2 + 13:25.7). Woody also probably could have helped a little earlier.
