And to top it all off, these home costs are all given out in the form of loans with zero interest, no payment deadline, and the only incentive to pay is that you can't get the next upgrade until the last one is paid off

This was a good subtle way to indirectly remind us that home ownership is virtually impossible nowadays. Fun fact: if the cost of housing simply increased at the same rate as inflation since the 60's the average cost of a house in the U.S. today would be $60,000.

A little overlap with Game Theory is not unexpected, and not unwanted! MatPat's been doin that thing a long time and there's no problem I can see with multiple perspectives on the same topics, especially months or even weeks apart. Only so many games and only so many wacky conspiracy theories to break down in excruciating detail, amirite? :D

While I like that you mentioned it exists, you can still make a video idea even if MatPat already did it. Also any house built with Timelord technology that doesn't break the bank is probably a bit cheaper than it should be haha.

Btw its said that Tom Nook gives away most of his money to orphanages so the money he is making of of you he sending most of it to a good cause and that means he probably doesn't have that much money for a single dad with two sons

…but WAIT!… or…wait… Your math was right, but you say all the right steps… You said multiply all the numbers by two and add them together, but it should have been times 4, since the spaces are themselves 2 BY 2! Or multiply the (individual) numbers by 2 and THEN multiply them together in the room dimension pairs, THEN add them together. With you the whole time and ahead of you 😎 At first I assumed the house didn’t include plumbing, but you can buy toilets, and they cost……44 dollars. So plumbing is probably included.

Some people would say there's something seriously wrong with you for the amount of effort you clearly put into these topics...i am not one of those people. Heck i don't even play Animal Crossing and still found this interesting and entertaining, and Is there something wrong with me? I don't think so. Now if you'll excuse me i gotta go show this to my landlord as clear proof that he needs to lower my rent.

Slandering Nook is fun at times, but he really is a genuinely good guy. He's what we wish all businessmen could be: honest and fair. Honestly if he heard people complaining about the price of things I wouldn't be surprised if he lamented to himself that he couldn't make it any cheaper.

Doesn't this also not take into account the cost of the property and land that the home is on? The math is just for the cost of building the structure itself.

I'm not super familiar with the irl process of building a house, but I would think either you purchase a plot of land and THEN build the house, or potentially for places where a company is trying to establish a whole new neighborhood that hasn't been built yet, homebuyers may purchase the unbuilt house that includes the land property 🤔 Not super sure about that second one. But either way, still an amazing deal for sure!
