I'm a returning Catholic. Trusting God has never been my strong suit. He's never allayed my fears or despair when struggle and strife stack up in my life with no silver linings to be found. My only conviction in faith is that He exists, and maybe He will help me and my loved ones in our times of need if we ask Him to when He feels like it.

@TheSunnyman3 For anyone confused here, this isnt really a statement of my ultimate trust in God guiding me through or anything. I'm admitting my fatalism. Life often seems like it's just getting worse, I accumulate scars that ache, hope for the future fades, and I wonder why God chose to let these things happen. No answers come, and I'm left feeling sad, frustrated, full of angst, and trusting Him less.

I have a Christian therapist that has guided me through the processes of letting go of past losses, resentments, anger, trauma..... I now have cleared more space in my heart and soul for God to fill. I am learning it requires hard work and courage (facing my fears) to rid myself of these unresolved issues and experiences. Ask for a friend, spiritual advisor, or priest to recommend someone. It make take a few tries to click with the right therapist but don't give up. It works if you work it. 😊❤😊

Everything is grace. We all came from nothing. The sooner we recognize this nothingness, the quicker we learn to be grateful about the things we have, not for our own sake but for others. Consider the lives of the Saints. The victim souls who’ve known the most tragic, most suffering one could ever fathom. How did they overcome those trials? By complete surrender. Letting His will be done in our lives is not easy if we only rely on our natural abilities. It is a supernatural gift that we can only possess if we have God as our only object. Love is giving without counting the cost. There can be no holiness without suffering. Everything is grace. And He is everything.

I just read this quote in The Dialogue by St. Catherine of Siena that might help: “to exercise them in virtue and to lift them up out of their imperfection, I take back my spiritual comfort and let them experience struggles and vexations. I do this to bring them to perfect knowledge of themselves, so that they will know that of themselves they have neither existence nor any grace. I want them, in time of conflict, to take refuge in me by seeking me and knowing me. This is why I give them these troubles. And though I may take away their comfort, I do not take away grace.”

As Christians it’s vital to trust God no matter what we are facing. God is our only strength in this world. Like many other single parents things are tough on me. Both of my sons are autistic and non verbal. I’m constantly struggling to provide for my boys. Now that I’m home schooling them things are especially hard. I’m having trouble getting their school supplies. I’m overwhelmed and so ashamed. Father God hear my prayers. My faith in you is strong! Even as I constantly struggle to pay my rent. And I constantly struggle to provide groceries for my children! I trust you Lord! I’m choosing to keep faith. Walking with faith is the most important thing us christian’s must do. That’s why love compassion and prayers are all we truly need. Please keep me in your prayers. Prayers are all I need.

Oliver Clark to Timon, St Paul should be read with caution given his "opinion" at RSV 1Cor7:25-35 that consecrated celibate marriage vowed to man in Christ is a higher vocation than consecrated male female marriage vowed to God: re the married man in a consecrated male female marriage RSV 1 Cor 7:34 asserts "his interests are divided". The two consecrated marriages of Mary as celibate at Luke 1:38 and male female at Mt 1:24 are equal in excellence. Bishop Barron in error asserts consecrated celibate marriage is "a higher way of love" at time 51:34 of his interview by Lex Fridman on "Christianity and the Catholic Church" on 21 July 2022. The "worldwide catastrophe" (Pope Francis, 10 June 2021) of sexual abuse has resulted from acting on this opinion of St Paul repeatedly compounded in roman catholic church role group teaching most recently by: 1. Pope St Paul V1 in his Encyclical Letter, "Of Human Life", Humanae Vitae, 1968 at n.12 not adding 'qualitatively equal' to "inseparable ... union and procreation" in marriage, 2. Pope St John Paul 2 in his exhortation Familiaris Consortio in 1981, 16: "Virginity or celibacy, by liberating the human heart in a unique way, "so as to make it burn with greater love for God and all humanity," bears witness that the Kingdom of God and His justice is that pearl of great price which is preferred to every other value no matter how great, and hence must be sought as the only definitive value. It is for this reason that the Church, throughout her history, has always defended the superiority of this charism to that of marriage, by reason of the wholly singular link which it has with the Kingdom of God.".

Great homily. I don’t know why I do some of the things I do. I am a mystery to myself. How can I expect to understand and know others and God when I am my own mystery? At some point, I must surrender that it is okay to accept the Mystery of God. I will always be in awe of His ways. I am on a lifetime journey to get more of God and less of me. ❤😊

Hello Bishop Barron! Thank you so much for your homily of this section of Romans. Many years ago, I took a Calculus 3 class. I was struggling with my understanding of an XYZ graph. Then, one class, my teacher did a problem on the board and drew the graph. He said something that really hit home in my understanding of the graph...I don't remember what he said exactly, but it worked. All of a sudden, it dawned on me. Though my teacher was drawing a flat XYZ graph on the board, it wasn't really like that. In fact, the Z-axis was actually sticking out of the board. I has been looking at a 3 dimensional graph as a linear object. It totally changed my perspective and after that, I began to do well in the coursework. This explanation of how we need to trust in God was just like that for me. Especially the part about the 4 year old child. It's like the Z-axis came straight out the board and where I was seeing something as linear, it's actually 3 dimensional. I don't know if that makes any sense, but honestly, it certainly has made a difference for me. So, again, thank you for your gift of explaining Scripture, not linearly, but in a deeper 3- dimensional capacity. It is so greatly appreciated!

Thank you bishop Barron, I will ponder on this sermon. I like seeing the Crucifix, I have one in my bedroom and when I'm pondering after asking for guidance of Jesus I look at the crucifix and it calls to mind all the goodness, fasting, walking, little sleep , praying to the father that Jesus did for us and yet so many turned from him once they knew that following him meant possibe persecution. People want diluted faith , no sacrifices, they have itching ears and want easier softer way , I did too many decades ago and remained drunk until I took the narrow path, trusted in him through the ups and downs and remained sober as I do still.

Smiling in gratitude, Bishop Barron. I in no way intend a sliver of irreverence when I say: "Bishop Barron, you are a man of the people." You come down to eye level with us, like a good child therapist does with a child, and speak to our questions. Speaking for myself here. Again, and again and again, I have encountered the questions you address from believers and non-believers and from lapsed believers. All other questions seem subsumed beneath the one you addressed today. Be well, blessings.

I enjoyed your message. What an amazing God we serve! I am like that child, trusting his character because I know that I am loved. More than that even, I am free. Free from the chains that bind. I am sympathetic with my Catholic brothers and sisters who are chained to the mass, guilted with the confessional, burdened with the rituals of Hail Marys and indulgences and the unsettling fear of purgatory. When Jesus said from the cross, “It is finished”, I believe him. It’s settled the moment we truly believe and are changed by his message, born again in the spirit. “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of his glory.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ What wonderful freedom. Jesus himself has gone before us and is our forever High Priest! When that veil was torn, there was no longer a need for an earthly priest as our go-between. “where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭20 Thank you Lord Jesus! I beg you to consider this all-perfect plan laid out by our Heavenly Father to be as it was intended, a gift. Gifts aren’t earned, they are bestowed. May God bless you and keep you and reveal to you secret things that until now have remained a mystery.

It is impossible to fully comprehend God as the human mind can never process God's devine intervention or question why he does what he does. Time & space as we know it here on earth does not even come close to how God works , all we can do is know the love he expressed by sending his son to the cross for our sins & through that sacrifice we have eternal life if we choose him.

For those whose parents don't love them: God loves you. He's different from your parents. Many priests and therapists had parents who loved them. So they say things like "Your parents love you." But all that means is that their parents loved them. They aren't purposefully trying to gaslight you. Some parents don't love their children. But the Good News is that God loves you so much. Unconditionally! Don't let your natural parents take away your awareness God's love. It's always there, whether you realize it or not.

I love reading the little flower’s concept of trusting in her Holy Father. St. Therese of Lisieux had a a marvelous way of understanding how to become the way Jesus recommended. “Like a child” with complete trust even through times of doubt, trust anyway. St. Therese of Lisieux pray for us. Blessings to you Bishop Barron and everyone in the world!

🙏🏼Dearest Bishop Barron, Good noon! Thank you for the Sunday sermon today. Knowing my identity with Jesus Christ is amazing and affects the way I think and behave. Sometimes, when I'm in crisis, I don't know who I am it affects my thinking, actions, and behavior. Bishop, As a Christian, it's essential to respond and embrace God's identity that doesn’t depend on my hair color, background, and body shape (attacking faith). My relationship with God, Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and all Saints are indeed factors that contribute to who I am today. Also, I did pray for Mrs. Elizabeth, your Dad, uncle, and aunties. Thank you for praying for my entire family. St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us. St. Mary, pray for us. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. Our Mary and Mother of Earth, pray for us. Faithfully yours, Cecilia Dreger and family (🕯️ original, unforgettable🏈). Wilbur Sacred Heart Parishioners( 🙏🏼Bishop Thomas Daly and Father Raj).

A great analogy there, the comparison of child to parent, man to God. He is certainly beyond comprehension, as my poor mother was. But instinctively I loved her for leading me in the right direction, to God.

I like the way you described how a child develops faith by relating "why?" to the parents, and I appreciated the correlation to an adult developing faith in his/her Higher Power, as Sister Ignatia of AA called God; I can almost imagine the kinds of conversations she had with Him! Thank you, Bishop Barron.

to Dawn Lapka from Oliver Clark, Bishop Barron''s uncontrollable oscillation between his regressive having faith 'familyism' and his affirmation of radical "why?" autonomous individualism thinking was warned against on 15 May 2014 by Pope Francis' President of his Council for the Family, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, in his address at the UNO on the UNO "The International Day of the Family".

@@OliverClark-p5q What do you, Oliver Clark want me to say to respond? The Catholic Church's Cardinals, Bishops, priests, deacons, nuns and consecrated lay people is not a fan club that you get to vote on, and it's not a political system based on democrat or republican principles, though the Church may hold certain views on these things, Bishop Barron has, like you, freedom of speech, and he uses that freedom to keep this platform alive. If you don't like him, don't subscribe to his channel. It's pretty much that simple, Oliver. Be an angry hater or don't.
