I found this video especially interesting! Thanks for the content! Fluff gets real boring real fast. I use the terms like crazy and “nuts” often. Although I feel like I’m usually talking about myself when I’m struggling mentally. It seems easier to not use words like crazy when not applying them to our minds. Such as instead of saying “wow that sunset looks crazy! You could say beautiful, unreal, breathtaking etc” but I’m having a hard time figuring out what else I could use when talking about irrational thoughts and erratic behavior! it feels super crazy in my head like everyday! and I don’t really know another way of phrasing it? I’ve got a pocket full of diagnoses but does that give me a pass if I’m only talking about me? It feels like I’m still encouraging negative language even if it’s directed at myself. Do you have some replacement words we could use? I’m having a hard time coming up with them! The the internet suggests insane kooky mad nuts nutty wacky ape berserk cuckoo lunatic psycho screwball But all those just mean… crazy and don’t really sound much better to me. Maybe I should be saying things like “man my emotions sure aren’t regulating well today” Or like “I would really rather not be ping-ponging back and forth between fits of mania and depression all day! Or “these racing and intrusive thoughts are really making my mood unpredictable” I feel all those sound nicer and are actually much more accurate, but Its just super simple to be like “dang man I’m real crazy today” Oh another phrase I say about myself that seems sort iffy now that I think is “freakout” or “freaking out”. I do be freaking out a lot tho! 🤷‍♂️ Help a dude out with some better vocab! TY!

I've been thinking about this a lot! I find myself using the word crazy in my vocabulary to describe myself too. So, I have been trying to think of solid replacements. I want to try naming my emotions or state of being more accurately. Which takes more time, but I think helps with overall awareness instead of lumping everything into the category of "crazy". So maybe, "I'm feeling ungrounded" or "today feels hectic" or "it's hard for me to focus right now" or "I'm overworked" or "overwhelmed" or "overstimulated". Those are still shorter descriptions, but I want to be less blaming of myself (or others) as being the root of the problem. Most of the time, when I'm feeling "crazy" it's due to environmental factors that I've internalized, and not that there's anything wrong with me, which is what "crazy" tends to imply.

thank you!@@kathryn.hubert "due to environmental factors that I've internalized, and not that there's anything wrong with me, which is what "crazy" tends to imply" This is a very profound statement that i am so quick to overlook. I'm gonna keep that in my pocket.
