Regarding the folder trick, you can also drag and drop stuff on the comp icon and it will make a new comp with the size of whatever you dropped in. The dragging of stuff on icons works the same in Photoshop and Premiere. In PS you can drag a layer on the mask icon to make a mask, in Premiere you can drag a clip on the sequence icon and it will make a seq with the length and size of whatever you dragged in. Thanks for the series, learning new stuff every day.

That they do. I didn't know about the Photoshop one. That's handy. Thanks!

for the tip 5:33 you don't need to drag .. just select your compositions and hold shift and click new folder icon and you'll have a folder with all the selected compositions ... thanks
@Workbenchtv

That doesn't work for me. :/ I even tried shift + other modifier keys. All variants only create a new folder.

I use a lot of these regularly, but those anchor point ones are a gem! One thing... I've always used CTRL-8 to make a marker, BUT it wasn't until recently that I was working with a few other AE guys on a big project that I realized you can just grab that marker icon at the far right of the timeline panel and just keep dragging markers in ad infinitum! Somehow I went a good six years without ever knowing that. :/
@Workbenchtv
@Workbenchtv 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's slower though so I never use it. ;) It would be faster if you just need random markers and don't care where they go. But that seems to be unlikely, haha.

I was gonna say that watching your quick tip videos is a bit like munching through a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups of techie goodness, except that it's mixed nuts and raisins and stuff now that I've gone all healthy.

Yep. You can always multiply them manually as well-[x*2,y*3] for example. That's also what you have to do if you need to multiply by different values.

Wow, I did not know that folder trick - thanks a ton! I'm not sure if it's kosher to recommend 3rd party plugins, but there's one called "Motion 2" that will let you click on a button and it'll change your anchor point to any of the cardinal and ordinal directions as well as centering it. Super helpful, but it is a plugin and not a built in thing, so if anyone ever tests you and says, "no plugins!", you're out of luck.
@Workbenchtv
@Workbenchtv 6 жыл бұрын
Yep. It's fine to mention it, haha. That's just a useful shortcut if you don't have Motion 2. And the folder trick is awesome-praise be to Severo. I still don't know why you can't just click it though.

Just tried the quick color choose thingy. Vertically is saturation, horizontally is hue. Too bad we can't add a modifier to set the luminance. Thanks for all the tips :)

OK, so I lied. It does happen. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKHGZoJ7bpmCjMk I vaguely recall that happening when a teacher left a DVD player on in class one day and everyone nearly cheered during a lecture when it finally hit the corner for the perfect bounce. Anyway, if you have a windows laptop that doesn't have a function setup for number pad, is there a shortcut you use to do things like numpad previews?

@Workbenchtv

Thanks! Taxonomy is something that's currently in development. Honestly it's most of the way there, I just need to add a little bit of functionality and then it'll be done. I mostly need some time to finish it. :)
