Workers & Resources Soviet Republic is a very charming city builder set in a Soviet Republic from the 60s to the 80s. With humble beginnings, we hope to become an economic powerhouse, and perhaps even a global superpower.

----------------
Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic
Manage all aspects of your own republic with planned economy, including mining resources, manufacturing goods, construction, investments, and citizens too.
Create your own industrial complexes with loading and unloading stations, storage, warehouses, and factories.
Build the infrastructure and manage its traffic, including roads, railways, sidewalks, conveyors, wiring, and pipelines. Wisely place and connect factories, houses and warehouses, and make the most efficient connections.
Plan and build the living areas with everything your citizens may need to live their happy life, such as playgrounds, cinema s, taverns, and shops.
Send your citizens to the mine to get coal, iron and other natural resources; or send them to the fields to pick up the crops; or take them to factories to produce manufactured goods.
Sell and purchase resources and goods from western countries or other soviet countries to get dollars or rubles and buy the products or resources you need ... or invest in new infrastructure or buildings.
Enjoy authentic soviet buildings and vehicles, as well as realistic landscapes of the 60's to the 90's.
Play the way you want! You can focus on getting natural resources or products and trade them for money; or you can build a self-sufficient republic; or you can just use the easy sandbox mode with unlimited money/resources and just enjoy building something live.
Economic simulation. Prices of resources on the global market are changing over time as you play -one day you can sell or purchase steel for a $100 per ton, but in a few months the cost can rise to $200 or decrease to $50. The price of everything is connected to the cost of work and resources.
Increasing difficulty. As prices change, the demands of the citizens also change, and you will need more resources to keep them happy and force them to work.

I never thought of this game being so much better than any other building city game I've ever played before I got it and played it and now I can't even think about how much I was actually missing out on other city building games that this game has and every city building game needs to be like this. I'm so glad that I got this game so much before I got city skylines and missed the actual real game play i have actually wanted i love this game so much!🚩

“Soviets” are actually nothing more than “worker councils”, so a soviet republic is nothing more than a worker/peasant republic. also Socialism still has money, the means of production just belong to the people, under communism there is neither money, not a state. a classless, stateless and moneyless society!

It's a bit late but to correct something here: it's not a city builder, it's a state builder! Multiple towns, villages and cities are created on a very large map with each their own specialisation and transport those goods. For example to run food factories and farms just a small town is enough but to let a steelmill run at max you just need a city for that alone and seeing that making enough food requires lots of space villages are easier to maintain. Also a mining village can be way better to keep the mines running and having bare essentials while having a bus/train route to the larger town or city in the valley below for the more advanced needs like a hospital. So yeah, it's a bit bigger is scale then a city builder

@@bill_the_butcher Nobody said there can't be subsubgenres, what with city builders being a subgenre of simulation. There can be city builders, there can be state builders(SimCity4 could actually fit that description what with its massive main map), there can be hamlet builders(RimWorld somewhat counts, there's also those simplistic medieval-and-before games popping up).

Eh, at least back then the prices for what essentially is a concrete box weren't outrageously inflated to the point where mortgage slavery is a thing. I'll take being thrown into an unsightly box with electricity, water and gas on a condition that I'll be useful to the people over being coerced with massive debts with a risk of being thrown out after getting raided by collectors if capitalism does its thing and doesn't land me a stable job with decent pay.

I lived near Amsterdam around 2015...some of those areas were no better. Grey concrete block housing...a park abutting against a housing block, with brick streets all 'round. As an American, it all seemed mildly dystopian. I mean, the brick streets were cool, but the 7 story concrete apartment blocs were like "whoa, we ain't in quaint touristy Holland anymore".

By the way, I noticed for this game, the reason some buildings have more of a "footprint" is that it changes according to how much land you need to have leveled. If the area you want to place the building is perfectly leveled, the building will more-or-less only take up the size it actually is. The footprint indicates not only the size of the building but also how much land(if any) you need to level.

There is a neat trick that allows to level down even mountains using road flattening tool, all you need is to pull the road across the hill, and then, without relrasing LMB start to move the road silhouette until it becomes highlighted with yellow. And then you slowly level the terrain, digging the hill. Btw, the more excavators you have, the faster terraforming is. (For smoothing you'll need dozers).

@@TheKnownPlayer You're right. Before my method the Soviet Union had the highest mountains of the world. But our great and glorious country felt pity for those people in the Himalayas, therefore we made that Mt Everest the highest. The stronger socialism, the safer the peace!
