I dont know who is still employing domestic workers. The middle class can almost not afford basics. Unless the government is willing to come with a subsidy or something domestic workers might have to accept, they are a luxury that South africans can no longer afford. They should've released this when the government tried pushing up minimum wage for them, and people immediately started cutting days.

The pain is that our kids are not working at all,government doesn't help domestic workers,we are uneducated,they don't register us,sometimes you don't get uif at all

Lol you really think that the people are paying that wages, i know many of my co workers who pay a ¼ of what i pay just because they stay in townships.

A zim gardener we used to use is still making up to 7-9k from various people up to 6 days and if theres not a 6th day he justs ask somebody else for a day job. Cleaner we get maybe once every 2-3 weeks and pay R320 which is the lowest from 4 who use her. Many pay different prices most who do pay domestic low salaries are corporate vs private homes and agents
