This second version is much more complicated than V1, so this tutorial video will most likely be very challenging to most people. I am also very bad at explaining certain things, so please bear with me when I attempt to explain how to set up certain parts of the timer. I did my best to explain clearly and create graphics to show you how it's done.

Didn't know you could make your own instruction sheets Makes sense tho, of course there's a site for that

super cool! do you do commissions or consulting!?
@LegoTechnicsRule

Commissions? No. I have had people ask me to make instructions for a creation of theirs and all I asked for in return was credit. Consulting? I am willing to share my knowledge for free.

That’s not a bad idea, but their business model is kinda unappealing. If I’m not mistaken, they take 90% of the sale.

Would it be possible to modify this so it can run on any increment on time, and send out signals in 3 equally spaced intervals without manual intervention? Doing this for a science project TIA

Please explain yourself further. The limiting factor here is the rubber band running out of tension.

@@LegoTechnicsRule Is it limited to just 5 second intervals? As in a signal, like maybe your last version where the rack came back up is a good example
@LegoTechnicsRule
@LegoTechnicsRule Жыл бұрын
@@g30rgez The intervals are determined by the gear ratio connected to the 24 tooth side of the differential. The gear connected to the differential is the ratchet. A 1:1 gear ratio acts like a 1:2 due to an anomaly having to do with differentials. Therefore, each click is 5 seconds hence 60 seconds/24 teeth x 2. The interval can be reduced by using, say, a 12 tooth gear as the ratchet. 60 seconds/24 teeth = 2.5 seconds. No x 2 because a 2:1 acts as a 1:1. I showed this anomaly in the video and a few people tried to explain it in the comments.
