When Devale was sharing about how his mother had three children and a full time job, it reminded me of the quote, “Just because you can doesn’t mean you have to...” We, especially as Black Women, are expected and even expect of ourselves, to do it all and wear ourselves thin. Though this seems simple, if you’re able to do so in a balanced way, go off. But nothing should be at the expense of your quality of life and/or your peace.

I love this forum! @Devale....yes your mother or mothers back then juggled a lot, it's mostly because they had to. If we are a team; a family unit, nothing is wrong with wanting teamwork or more effort from your spouse. It takes a lot of stress off just one partner and with teamwork time and effort can be saved and then can be poured into dating each other continually to keep things interesting.

Something I wished the women would have pointed out. He said, "I TRY to HELP with the feedings WHEN I CAN." When you aren't helping with the feeding it still has to get done. So she has to drop what she is doing to feed the kid there is no TRYING or WHEN SHE CAN. I do appreciate that my husband finally got it and still understands that when you are home with the kids, it does not stop. Sometimes I wish I had a job because at least I get 2 15s and an 1/2 hour break.

10:41 the homemaker comment really hit the nail on the head for me. both of my parents were divorced and did not remarry and I really didn't have a home with either one of them. Now I'm not saying the woman has to or should be the homemaker, I'm saying it does require a certain type of skill to be able to make a house a home as an Adult or Parent male or female. honestly it's one of the mysteries I'm still trying to figure out - not everyone has or grew up with that foundation/blueprint

(1:15) Reason 101 why I don't put my race before my relationship with God. This is why I stay away from the Blackadee-black crowd, because there's no real God laws to guide you, only just being Black qualifies. * You have *MEN FOLLOWING THE WOMEN* who agree with the alphabet lifestyle. Which is the same simple (simp) spirit that led the man to obey the woman in the garden when she ate from God's tree. * Adam didn't speak up then and today these men are not speaking up now.

Men help when they can which is appreciated, but women do it all of the other times bc it must be done. Kids needs are not aligned to when we "can" do something. They need many things all of the time. That's on mom.

I appreciate that they work on their marriage but the conversation is cringy 80% of the time on any platform with them. Now I suffer from depression and people tell me all the time "your not alone"my situation is I don't want to be a part of it. So don't make it seem like it's okay to be uncomfortable together when you can probably be better by yourself.
