It's the first podcast of 2019 and Ed's focused on ice fishing, even though the ice on New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee isn't quite thick enough yet to be out on, especially not with any equipment. Still some of the smaller lakes are solid enough and plenty of fishermen are out there. Max has an update on oak trees to follow up on last month's discussion of the lack of acorns (a major food source for deer) in the woods this year and why that is.

They used to weave unique patterns into the Irish Fisherman sweaters so they could easily identify the body if you got lost at sea. Hopefully you wont need that feature.
