Nice to see the Thunderwear/Smartcarry concept getting a little respect. Usually people give me the stink-eye when I tell them about the codpiece-type holsters

I've been using that style of carry since 1993 with a similar holster called the "Thunderwear". It's a valid technique for sure and lends well to an option for someone who appendix carries. On a side note, I'm digging the little bit of the house I saw.

Wow!! I honestly think this is the first firearm vid I've seen where people have complete opposite views on firearms or conceal carry options, yet have been able to express those views in a respectful way and kept a very mature dialogue going where I have actually learned something from both sides.
@2dAnglicoSix5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely concur! Have legally carried using this manner for years as a: Marine ‘Grunt’, a Special Weapon’s Security Specialist, and as a citizen CHL licensee. Have engaged in all forms of physical activity, minus Reid’s hand-stand. 🙂 This method works especially for formal or extremely casual workout/jogging attire whether carrying a Kahr P45 or Glock 19. FYI, I am 6’ and 180 lbs. Barrels between 3-4” work best when especially when sitting or doing crunches.

Love the Smart Carry. I have used one for nearly 10 years after trying many other options. It works with a tucked in shirt or you can turn it into your favorite IWB position with belted pants or jeans and go untucked. No clips and no gun belt required.

Reid, Thanks for turning me on to this holster Bro. I must have dropped thousands on CC holsters trying to find one that was comfortable and didn't print. This was the answer. Ware it every day for up to 13 hours and it is comfortable and invisible. My wife asked me on the first day why I wasn't carrying. Fooled her. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Reid hey brother I'm glad you have you own ch. I love all your vids and I wanted to tell you what happened when I first started carrying . I was going to the gym and I threw my glock 30 into my workout bag and a round caromex lip balm got stuck inside the trigger guard and had took all the slack out of the trigger and I could have killed somebody. Talk about scary so I learned the hard way carry inside a holster and dedicate one pocket just for the gun.keep up the excellent work brother.

Nice holster! I'll look into it. Previously, I used to jog with a weight vest... minus the weights in the pockets. Still looks like a normal weight vest on the outside, but it can operate like a mini-tactical vest. Just another idea.

+Reid Henrichs I greatly appreciate this video. If you haven't, a couple of other holsters I'd recommend you to check out are the 3Speed Holster and Crossbreed's Belly Band. They are great to wear in workout/gym shorts.
@AaronCook839 жыл бұрын
I've put my NSR C-1 on a belt under my shorts in a pinch before, and actually like it more than my off brand smart carry. I used my old USMC belt instead of my SOE, it conformed to my hips a little better. You can adjust the position depending on your workout and how you need to be able to move.

Good advice. I've found that those cheap Blackhawk cloth IWB holsters actually work pretty well for when you're wearing gym shorts. I use one for running and it holds my snubby pretty well. Better than a fanny pack constantly smacking you in the nuts.

I'm Canadian. I don't mean any disrespect when asking this but why? I know you guys are passionate about your constitution and living by it, but is a gun to the gym necessary. We have strict gun laws. Nearly impossible to see a loaded gun outside of a cops holster. Our gun crime is a fraction of yours. I have to ask, how bad is it there that you need to Carry a gun to feel safe? Does it come down to fear? I go to the gym 5-6 times a week. It has never crossed my mind to carry a gun to the gym. Again no disrespect.
@kop43219 жыл бұрын
tarshinator I live in Vancouver, one of the safest cities in the world with a fraction of a fraction of a chance of anything happening to you, yet I've known people whom have been assaulted then robbed. Do you need to carry a gun? No. Knowing when and where you shouldn't go, situational awareness and seeing how people act can carry you through life with minimal problems nor is a gun any replacement for this. Should a law abiding citizen be allowed to carry a gun if they so desire too? Yes, there is no valid reason against it.
@iluvthetrollin9 жыл бұрын
tarshinator dude, if you haven't realized our laws are bullshit. we have a fraction of the crime because we have 300 million less people. Why should I not be allowed to carry a gun when criminals always do?

Wear a D-ring belt over the shorts and you can use IWB holsters like Galco Stow-N-Go. The waistband of the shorts will keep the shorts from slipping under the belt.

I've got the smartcarry holster with the M&P Shield. I weigh 170 and it runs way too big on me. I bought more velcro from a hardware store and I have made some adjustments with a hot glue gun. It works well, but I have trouble with my draw stroke. It's very difficult to get a full purchase on the firearm. I'm glad my gun has a manual safety. It's delicate, but it's nice to have something that will go over sweat pants for when you're lazy or just wanting to take the dog for a walk. It's a very good jogging buddy.

Didn't know you had a channel just subbed. I've been carrying a shield in a galco belly and at work and I was really thinking about getting that smart carry for a g19 to use at work or just one for the shield also cus the smart carry looks more comfortable. I'm a big guy I wear dress pants and polo tucked in for work. Would the 19 conceal well in one of those smart carry holsters.
