Thank you Paul for the speedy shipping, excellent communication, and great knife. I was just up in the Cariboo and was able to put this knife through the paces. Can't say enough good things about this knife. Great carver and they nailed the heat treat on this ELMAX. Fantastic edge holding. This knife came crazy sharp and I was able to maintain the edge with a strop and CBN compound after heavy use. No chips or rolls. Even cleaned some nice lake trout with it and although it wasn't the best grind for that use, it was all I had, and it worked fine.

A beautiful, very high quality knife that's about the perfect size. I have always liked the F1, and have thought of getting one, and this really has my attention.

I have many Fallkniven pros...A1, S1, F1 all in pro and some NL series, as well. I like my Elmax F1, but actually prefer my laminated cobalt steel in the more common F1 pro set-up. I am not sure why this is the case, but maybe ease of sharpening and just the general feel of the knife. When I started out in knife collecting, I wanted the "super" steels but then quickly realized that I like to be able to sharpen my knives easily with a strop and I like a softer steel that is less likely to chip. Just my preferences. I own many types, so even I change my mind based on the day and what I'm doing.

Same here. Bought all the super steels but find myself going to the basic steels on long adventures for ease of maintaining

@@gregors.5734 ah okay, I've never used a laminate steel and am considering a fallkniven. Either the f1x/f1 Pro elmax or the lam cos. Do you think the same of lam cos?

@@Next96300 And not knowing that Fallkniven makes an actual knife model called the "A2"(which shouldn't be confused with A2 steel) makes your's honestly the most stupid statement that has ever been made to date about knives....
