Saddens me that every year there are less and veterans at the D-Day ceremonies. It's a great loss every time we lose one of these heroes.

Russian memory is very selective. To them the war started in 1941 with Operation Barbarossa. They try to eradicate from the world's memory the crimes and atrocities they committed in years preceding to Barbarossa - for example teaming up with Hitler in 1939 with a non-aggression pact to invade eastern Poland in 1939 and the massacre of Polish POWs and intelligentsia in Katyn and other places in 1940. Not to forget the thousands of civilians who were send to Siberia and the Gulag.

While the soldiers were men, yes, women played an equally important role. they made the uniforms they wore, the guns they held, the gear they carried, the planes, tanks and ships they crewed. While all the men were at war, the women did literally everything else. I get the modern wokeness is a bit peeving but cmon the women of the world were quite literally keeping it alive.

Because he respects those that fought for our freedom and that it is the soldiers jobs to defend the country, and the people to either keep it going or send it to ruin. He wants to keep their legacy alive by having their role in history taught more to young people. People accuse him of politicising their role but he is simply stating they are the greatest generation as they are known and that they are usually more tough and stoic than many in the younger generations. He states we cannot let their sacrifice be in vain, we must keep Great Britain great for them.

tRUMP calls the military 'suckers and losers'. He also avoided the draft because of fictious bone spurs. Biden is a decent man. Lest We Forget all brave military members lost, living, and currently serving. 💙 🇨🇦 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 🇫🇷

Not really. Those were honest tears. His own son died later as a result of being in a contaminated area. Have some respect.

@@Zorbakozak Biden's son died of cancer in the US. Biden returned from Iraq in September 2009 after completing his yearlong stint on active duty which included a *_7-month deployment in the combat zone with the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps_* Beau was nowhere near a burn pit.

Of course Bone Spurs Trump said those who died for their country were losers and suckers. And don’t say he didn’t. Gen Kelly said he did and I would believe him over the lying Trump or any of his lying lackeys.

At least his son served. Neither of Trump’s two oldest sons did. Like Trump, they thought they were above that.
