You are right. The recoil on that monster was obvious. Airguns can achieve lots of power but that comes with a large size footprint. Whether it's practical and desirable for most people is subjective, but it is sure cool to see the upper limits of what can be done. Thanks for sharing another beautifully filmed video.

Love the "I'm fine" shirt!!! And only $1200 - the most powerful commercial air rifle is just $200 more than most average ones - for the extra $200, might as well go big. WOW!!! Knocked the back plate complete out and destroyed the tunnel of destruction!!! And THAT'S why folks have been able to drop moose and other big game with this sucker. Holy crap - nine jugs - you couldn't do that with most high caliber rifles. I'm guessing you need hearing protection for this sucker? Just for reference folks, 437 grains equal an ounce, which is what a 12 gauge shotgun slug weighs, meaning most of these slugs are two ounces or more in weight, hence the reason it destroyed the tunnel of destruction. $350 for the scope - not bad. .95 caliber?!? O_o The infamous 4 bore rifle from Kentucky Ballistics is .95 caliber, or 5 gauge if it were a shotgun - caliber is percentage of an inch meaning that .95 caliber slug would be 0.95 inches in diameter and would weigh a quarter pound - yes, four ounces - each. The Zeus may be the air rifle to hunt elephants with, but they're going to need to name the .95 caliber version the T-Rex as that's the only thing small enough to be shot with it without being vaporized. So what's the recoil like on the Zeus - looked like it was letting you know every time it was fired? You forgot the cinder blocks/paving stones as this sucker definitely demanded a cement penetration test. OK, just did some research - the .95 cal is the Zeus Mk 2 - 4500-7000 psi 1600cc triple tanks - 2 forward one rear 2500 gr slug 800+ fps 4000 fpe 5 shots per fill A 2500 gr slug traveling at 800 fps is going to hit with 3552 foot pounds of energy - yeah - that'll drop a T-Rex.

Amazing 1700 Joules of energy in an air gun. By comparison, an average Glock shooting a 9 mm bullet produces approximately 1150 fps (350 mps) giving muzzle energy of 338 ft lb (458 joules), less than one-third of the energy in this air gun pellet. As an air gun user (outside the USA) I hope they don't change the laws anytime soon, as they have in the UK, to limit the energy.

Here in the UK, that is about 100 times as powerful as an airgun is allowed to be. You could own one of these on a firearm certificate, but then you would be subject to all the other restrictions of a firearm (have to belong to a gun club, have to keep it locked up and separate from the ammo, only shoot it on Home Office approved ranges) so you might as well just buy a full bore rifle and be done with it, although this would be an interesting thing to own just because of what it is...

@@rick31869 he tested the muzzle velocity and energy. The most he got was 1260 ftlbs. Most light load 1 oz slugs get around 1500-1600 ftlbs. Some custom 3 1/2 inch super magnum loads I've made can exceed 3000 ftlbs.

I have had one of these for years. If you hold it like a shot gun you don't feel recoil. It will destroy everything you shoot with it. The slugs are so big it costs like real gun ammo to buy. But s whole lot of fun

The new tunnel of destruction is going to need to hold 10 stainless trays. You tend to be pretty good at keeping shots centered horizontally. You could try setting the trays tall instead of wide. Give yourself more play on the vertical.

Then I started building the new tunnel with … 12 positions! Then the trays arrived and… they’re of a different material. A lot weaker. Almost like made of tin. Soooo I had to dissemble everything and start over. Long story short, I kept them horizontal and (only) made 6 positions. For now… more work to be done. As always, thank you my dear friend!

0.72" is 12 gauge, so have you thought about using 12 shotgun slugs? They typically weigh 1 oz. (437 grains), so you'd get significantly higher velocity. One possible concern: Those pellets may have hollow bases, which expand to seal against the bore, but shotgun slugs don't, so you might need a wad, for a good seal.

Any idea if there are any light weight Sabots for high speed? ...and if so, what kind of speed is possible? I suspect they use heavy bullets, because they can only accelerate a small/light bullet so fast with air... so more weight is the way to get more power. I don't know that for a fact though. I know a lot more about firearms than I do about air rifles though... so I could be wrong. I think it's the same principal with slings and sling shots.

Were you using a sabot for the water jug shot at 5:16? Looks like something was flying above the jugs as the bullet was impacting.

Haha no sabot. I also rewatched it a million times trying to understand what that is. I think it’s a bug flying in front of that camera, at an angle and timing that is perfectly synced with the shot. Because the other camera didn’t catch anything. It wouldn’t be too crazy, as there are so, so, so, so many bugs out there. But funny coincidence, if that’s what it is…
