TIPS: Always read the battle descriptions, alpharad lost his first lightlocke not not reading and sending Pichu into stamina battles and stuff like that Specific set of skills: There are 2 skills of "fast fs meter" and "double final smash" which have great synergy and let you beat fights that you otherwise wouldn't be able to Exploit the AI: ai might just spam projectiles even if you reflect them or other exlloitable things like that so look out for habits Pick you battles: unless trying for a 100%, some fights aren't worth it, an example are any with high winds. World of light warriors: dont be afraid to try new characters to you. Character skill doesnt come in as much as against humans since the fights are so gimmicky. Experiment with fighters and you might find a new hero, like lightlocke lucas or pac god.

If you're doing a lightlocke, do it with spirits. It's still difficult with them. Doing it without spirits is basically impossible. If you don't want to use spirits, don't do a lightlocke or else this will happen over and over again.

So, you want to do World of Light, BLIND as a NUZLOCKE, and SPIRITLESS. I admire your ambition, but you might want to just pick one of those three things. Maybe two at a push. You'll be eating a LOT of cheese to do this Spiritless, and you'll need to prepare a strat (that usually requires luck), and some fights do require that you know what's going on, meaning you'll probably lose them a few times before you find the strategy, or are just best ignored entirely. Looking forward to watching the series though!

Unfortunately the only tip I can give you is to break your “no spirits rule”. Some of these levels have environmental hazards. And I’m not talking about like how Onett has the cars on the street. I mean like their are recovery preventing winds and lava floors that launch you on contact. You NEED spirits to neutralize them. Also, some pathways on the world map are blocked unless you have certain spirits. For example, there are boulders that you need bomberman to blow up to continue.

Tbf it was his first time playing WoL so maybe if he had practice and patience to tackle WoL Nuzloke no spirits, he could probably do it, but like you said he does have a life. I think it would take time for speedrunners to come up with strategies as well as the knowledge of how to play most (like maybe 65 out of 80 characters in the game) characters in order to see somebody beating this challenge.

Marss would be decent as well, but he lacks the patience and hasn't played against CPUs enough to know how to properly exploit their ai like Nairo. You're also right about the fact that you would basically need a team of people/speedrunners making up strats for each hard match. Like which characters to use, the best way to cheese each fight, etc. Leaving it all up to one person would be a pretty crazy task. I think the dream team would be Nairo, m2k, and alpharad imo. spirit points can be used to buy skill spheres at shops so they aren't totally worthless. Also, because of the crazy restrictions you may want to avoid doing as many 3 star or higher battles as possible. There's also no harm in some mild googling so that you aren't also going in blind and losing valuable characters to cheese though maybe you want the surprise factor even if it ends you super early? Alternatively you could limit your spirits rather than remove them entirely like perhaps only novice primary spirits or no support spirits or you can only use spirits below the class of the one you're fighting.

Since the DLC characters weren't in the base game, after a certain point you just unlock them, so a lot of people say they should be banned in Lightlockes, but what I think would be good is if you have to beat the Legendary Spirit from the DLC character's DLC Spirit Board to unlock them.

As someone that did a 100% light lock with no spirits, I'm here to give you some tips 1.) Certain things can't be activated without certain spirits. For example, (spoilers) you need a slippy spirit to fix Fox's ship and progress further into the game 2.) Don't fight everything and avoid as many Ace and Legend (3 and 4 stars) spirits as possible. 3.) When deciding which path to take on the skill tree, look through out the entire path, not just the ones you can unlock as there a certain things that definitely want like double final smash and unflinching charged smash attacks 4.) Save characters that hit hard or you're really good with for last unless you don't think you can win without them 5.) Don't do it on hard mode, normal is difficult enough with spirits (i think Alpharad did it on easy mode but I'm not 100% sure) 6.) Use as much cheddar as possible, these things slap you around like play-doh 7.) There is a spirit you need of a bus driver that allows you to get Isabelle, don't throw it away I also recommend doing Villager's path unless you're good with Sheik because Marth's path is definitely the hardest one imo

Spiritlocke and lightlocke are different things. Spiritlocke is that you can't use spirits, but if you die with a character, he or she is not out forever. But lightlocke is with spirits, so you are allowed to use spirits in lightlocke, but the character is out forever if you die.

Yeah some battles are actually impossible without spirits especially battles that have the: floor is lava, floor is zappy zappy, or floor is sleepy sleepy condition Some tips I could give when using spirits: Look at primary spirits and what traits they offer and how many supports slots do they have, pick one you think would best suit your playstyle. Personally I like primary spirits with a full 3 support slot since I can add any trait I feel would help out the most. Look at the conditions before the battle, is it stamina or have heavy winds and use the correct spirit set up accordingly Also when looking at skill tree, go for the upper left portion first to get Double Final Smash, then go up the branches to get Hyper Smash, then go to the right portion to get Additional Double Jump and the rest is really up to you I don't what the rule is on DLC spirits but if it's allowed them they offer some nice things too. Though I don't think they are allowed in nuzlocke. Same for Spirit Board spirits I think, which is a shame because the most broken set up I got was getting the Hades spirit, level him up to 99 and upgrade (certain spirits will say they can upgrade at 99) him to become Hades True Form, level that up to 99, send him to Ryoma's gym (anime larry the lobster) to learn demon style; the gym can be unlocked during the World of Light, and then get the Halberd support spirit which offers the Armor Knight trait and apply it to Hades and watch as Sephiroth's fully charged up b does 170.3% damage. But that's banned so now you can only ponder on what could've been

Since you’re not using spirits, try to avoid fighting master and ace spirits as much as possible. The gimmicks in those fights are often pretty unfair, even if you had spirits on your side. Also watch out for bosses- take your characters who do the most damage into those fights. Hope this helps

In terms of advice, I know this is small, but this will at least improve your chances later in a run. By the end of my first World of Light play through (throught which I commonly changed the difficulty setting), I did not ‘forget’ anything on my Skill Tree once, and with 31 Skill Spheres left, the only five spaces I didn’t have filled were Super Easy Dodging near the top right, Landing Lag ⬇️⬇️ in the top right, Weapon Resist ⬆️ in the top left, Easier Perfect Shield in the bottom left, and Activities ⬆️ in the bottom left. The 1st, 2nd, and 4th of those are each worth 70 Skill Spheres, the 3rd is worth 100, and the 5th is 90. So I would closely analyze which Skills you need first, mainly by looking at the paths ahead of each option, if any.

Some advice for you: 1-No spirits mean you will deal less and less damage while taking more and more damage the more you advance. Be ready to JV4 all your opponents by cheesing them all you can. 2-Avoid any battle that is not in your way, specially all 3 or more star-spirits (5-star spirits are just ridiculous). 3-There are boss fights you may not know. You can practice them in classic mode to learn their M.O. 4-Patience, LOTS of patience. 5-I would REALLY change that "no spirits" rule you created. I know you want a challenge, but it will be like fighting Amiibos all the time. If you want to make a challenge, I'd recommend maybe no Skill Tree.

Nuzlocke is already hard with spirits (NB : only using materials found during the run, if you lvl every spirit to 99 the moment you get one, it's much easier). You should split that into two challenges : 1/ Nuzlocke; 2/ Beat all spirits without spirits. First one is self explenatory. 2nd one uses a feature that was added in an update that most people overlooked : you can battle a spirit you already have from Collection > Spirit. These battles have highscore, and you get a better score from having low spirit value loadout. Without spirit, you achieve perfect score. This requires getting all spirits beforehand though

A normal nuzlock would be way more fun for both you and us. Beating the game without spirits literally just comes down to playing the same fight over and over until the AI SDs. You won't be able to do both a nuzlock and spirit-less. Definitely down to watch a nuzlock though!

To echo the thoughts of everyone else, you cannot do a Lightlocke without spirits. It is far too difficult. If you would like to keep some of the idea, you could do one star and two star battles without spirits (some of them are still going to be difficult but they are at least doable). If you are going to do this without spirits, here’s a few tips: - Always, always go for cheese. Chrom is good for characters who have bad recoveries (up-b at ledge to spike them). DK is good for walk off stages (wait by the edge, grab them, and throw). Zelda is good if the fight lasts long enough for her to get final smash and she’s able to stay at a safe distance. Ganon and Little Mac are good against super lightweight characters who will die in 1 or 2 hits (provided they don’t stay offstage all the time). - If it seems like you can’t beat the AI via cheese, wait for it to make a mistake. There are ways to encourage this, like hanging around offstage or purposefully getting near dangerous items like bombs or mines. In the notoriously difficult Baby Bowser fight, I once had the Bowser SD while trying to down-air me because I grabbed the ledge at the last minute. - Keep trying. Sometimes it will take days to beat a battle. Don’t get discouraged. If you choose to do a Lightlocke, the general strategy is to try with characters that you can live without before you move to your essentials. Make sure that you have a good strategy before you go into a battle-for example, it would not be a good idea to try to kill a Lucario with Sheik, or to attempt to gimp a R.O.B. with Chrom. Know your characters strengths and weaknesses. General Tips - To know how many fighters you’re going up against, look under the icon that has their power level. Most of the time you will be fighting all of these fighters at once-however, there are a few exceptions. If one of the battle conditions is “Reinforcements will appear after an enemy is KO’d,” you’re probably only fighting one fighter at a time. Second, there can only be four other fighter besides yourself on the screen at a time-if there are more, they’ll appear once one of the others is killed. - Some routes will be blocked off until you get a certain spirit (for example, you need to get the Kapp’n spirit before you can ride the bus). That’s why you were getting the “If you could drive the Gray Goose you could go down the circuit” message. If you don’t actually know who drives the vehicle, you can look for context clues such as what series the vehicle appears to be from or you could run around checking spirit portraits to see if the vehicle appears in a spirit’s background (it does happen with a few characters). Once you unlock the necessary fighter, the game should pan over to where the vehicle is and shine. There are some other ways that the routes may be blocked (such as questionnaires or puzzles)-generally you should follow the same guidelines and look for context clues in the surrounding area/battles. - You don’t have to complete every spirit battle to complete World of Light-oftentimes, a road will branch, and you usually only need to go down one of the paths to progress. Other times there will be a spirit blocking a chest, but these chests are non-essential. If these battles seem too hard/risky, feel free to skip them. Good luck with this, man.

Its incredible you made it as far as you did without spirits, but I assure you, a spiritless lightlocke WILL be impossible Maybe make a rule where you keep your power like at least 5000 below the opponent? Give yourself a chance hahaha

If you are gonna do this again, kirby's down-special demolishes spirits in the early game. Just fly above them and down-special

Tip: Kirby up special works like chromside. So until you get chrom or ike, use it for cheese. Trust me, it works. Even on stamina. If they have super armor, Lucario is the most useful because of the aura gimmick.
