So good the Italian Navy was far better than even the oh so glorified British/Japanese one, with the only major downside that italy wasn't able to fit most of its ships with radars.

Helps that the Italian Navy could concentrate on designing ships for one Theatre of Operations over any others, while British ships needed to take into account the global possibility of where they would be engaging. However, that being said, they still designed and built some extremely capable, and just as importantly, pretty ships! But to be perfectly frank, by the mid 40's, not having radar on a ship was a serious liability. Doesnt matter how good a ship is, if it cannot see the target it cannot shoot it.

Perhaps, but by 1943 close to every ship in the RN was fitted with at least Fire Control Radar, most had, or were in the process of being fitted with both air and sea search radar. And that is the problem, it matters little how good a ships design is, if it cannot see the enemy, but the enemy can see them, they are in a bad place. Given the choice I would rather have served on an RN ship at the time over an Italian one, even if there are some very solid arguments indicating that in many ways some of those Italian ships were better than their British counterparts. By the last few years of the war Radar was a total game changer, look at how badly the USN handled the Japanese when they were able to engage the Japanese at night.... That is not an indication of ship quality either, its just Radar equipped ships just had so many advantages that were becoming clear by that point that those without were simply outclassed, no matter how good their basic design. The Japanese ships often had fire control radar, but their search radar was well behind that of the Americans. Of course, at least with ships you can add Radar later, but that is one area where the Italian Industry lagged seriously behind.

Sort of, but not in the way you're thinking. The Prototipo Standard B really was an excellent tan with amazing performance...when it worked. World of Tanks doesn't model the kinds of problems that the PSB had, specifically tending to need to literally be towed to testing grounds because it had failed before it ever got there. So, a very high performance tank, discarded because it simply wasn't reliable enough and had to be in the garage constantly. Hey! It's Italian after all! And apparently their tank designers went on to make sports cars...

Magic tanks there is exactly no reason for this to not have the exact same ammo stowage as the leopard prototype (other than in the turret which is the only part of the tank that is different other than the parts that don't matter for ammo storage). WG just wanted to make the only line in that tech tree not made out of ammo racks as they all from tier 8 should be.

Actually Germany was working with France on the Europanzer project. Since they couldn't agree on one design, the Germans made the Leopard 1 and the French made the AMX-30. Italy was in the project too, but only for a short time. This vehicle has nothing to do with Italy in real life, it was made by Rheinstahl-Hanomag and Henschel.

The Ariete isn't actually based on the Leopard 2, it's developed from the OF-40, an Italian export tank based on the Leopard 1. It also is good but not exceptional, which makes sense since it isn't used much, and the Italian Army's main armored is the B1 Centauro. The Centauro has also been relatively successful export-wise, being used by Jordan and Spain. As well as the Royal Guard of Oman. No, I have no idea why a royal guard needs a wheeled tank destroyer, or why they need 9 of them.

AW2C - Alpha's World Conquest Company They also made an AA variant of the B1 Centauro with a 76 mm autocannon. The Otomatic of the 21rst century. Also the C1 compared to other MBT doesn't seem that good but people need to remember that it weights 10/15 tons less than average at 55 tons vs the Leopard 2A7 and M1A2 70.

Italian naval guns are outstanding. They make 76mm guns currently that are basically large caliber machine guns (up to 120 rounds per minute), and their 5" gun, while heavy, is quite the exceptional peice of hardware.

Our tank is the best in the world. Serius armor protection with composite armor, made with layers of pizza pasta and lasagna. Every ingredient has his properties. Solid crust from the pizza for the AP protection. Soft and spaced layer from lasagna for HEAT and the pasta is good as MRE for long engagement!

On epic medal etiquette: Harm in asking? No. Harm in letting someone get one? Yes. it diminishes the achievement. That being said, there's no need to go out of one's way to deny a teammate an honor. Especially considering all he's had to do to reach the brink of that achievement. And yes, I expect the same in return. I've never asked for a medal. I have had teammates ask on my behalf, at which point I tap the "negative" radio key. Win first, collect medals later. I'll earn all of mine, and have greater contentment knowing that my total earned may be smaller, but that none of them were gifts.

Jingles I do not know what is the reality behind it since it was most likely made up by WG, however I do know that Oto Melara, the Italian company that supposedly took part in the development, is a company that makes tank guns and is also the company that projected the auto-loading modification for the Leopard 1 (the so-called Oto-Leopard) that was once expected to appear in the Italian Tech Tree at tier 10, given that it would be possible that Oto would mess around with the ammorack in order to make it easier for it to connect to the auto-loading mechanism, it could somehow end up becoming more protected than on the original prototype, but that is just a semi-realistic supposition based on bits of knowledge

Jingles talking about good vs bad tank design by country reminds me of how i look at artillery and shipbuilding during WW2 when comparing the US and Germany with tanks, and the US and Japan in ships, battleships specifically. Germany made very high quality tanks (with an obvious number of exceptions) but the US made a large number of very much "OK" tanks that weren't amazing at anything in particular but were good overall with most things. This also appeared as the case for Japan who made exceptionally high quality ships but could only make a few of them during the war whereas the US made A LOT of very much decent ships which overpowered them. Then theres the soviets with their thrown together but somehow super effective T34 which just obliterated everything with the sheer numbers.

GG Don't know about it being a hard-earned medal as he made it look easy enough, still, 7 kills are hard to come by, being in the best spot at the right time helps. I've only had 2 five kill battles so I've got a ways to go and no room to say much. But am now grinding my P.43 to the P.43 bis. The Italian autoloader appealed to me a few videos back, so I've been almost exclusively grinding the Italian mediums.

Italy make some very sexy ships...wouldn't say they're very good at least when it comes to fast craft ferries. The Italian built SuperSeacat was easily the sexiest looking modern(ish) passenger ferry built but SuperSeacat 2 spent more time with at least 1 of it's engines just along for the ride than she did at full power & SuperSeacat 3 had chronic overheating & oil pump issues and couldn't be run at full speed for the entire liv-dub crossing. We used to have to intentionally rock that bitch of a thing around to slosh the oil about to stop it from seizing up. Not so good with near 1000 pax aboard that were all really bad at bulkhead pinball :p When they worked they were awesome it's just that was a very rare occurance :p Sorry Italy. If it makes you's feel better at least your ships didn't have a few good attempts at killing me. That honor goes to the Austrailians/Tasmania built Incat81 Seacat Rapide. It tried to slice me in 2 when a line snapped when one of the engines refused to shut down after tieing up. When that didn't work it tried to crush me when the aft ramp failed and it slammed down on the linkspan and then it's last attempt was when it decided to blow a fuel pump and set the port engine room ablaze. Good luck to the poor buggers that sail on her now :p

Out of all the Italian tanks, the standard b is the one I'm most looking forward to. The standard leopard prototype (yes i know... the naming is getting stupid at this point xD) is the only high tier tank I've 2 marked so far, no idea where this made of ammo-racks shenanigans comes from, my Leo PTA even bounces shit.... lies i tell you =)))))) (srsly though i don't seem to get ammo-racked in it any more than in any other tank so maybe something's fishy)

Really curious to try the hight tier Italian tanks. I'm at the AMX-50 100 on the French tree, and despite the flaws, I LOVE the thing. I like the idea of flexibility, and having a far shorter time to wait before I can have at least 1 shell to fire back with. On the other hand, I love the ability clip tanks, and less shells means less dmg per burst which means the target needs more damage taken for me to clip them. Or maybe I can't clip two tanks on very low health.

As someone who's earned 3 marks of excellence and 1k games on the Leopard 1, I have to point out that to compare the Standard B to the leo proto is to compare apples to oranges and completely unfair. Firstly, the leo proto has a higher top speed, so the B isn't necessarily faster. And while the proto isn't very flexible and is made out of ammo racks, it is a pure sniper, and is more similar to an strv than any medium. Consequentially, because the leo doesn't have an auto loader, it has a much shorter aim time, greater accuracy, and slightly higher dpm. So to conclude, Germany didn't pick the bad aspects of tank design, they just picked the ones that matter ;)

Ok, so it´s a 75% german and 25% Italian tank? I bet the 25% are the advanced rear driving gears, the automatic white flag dispenser and the wonderfully manufactured switching-allegiance-buttons (depending on the actual front you are you can choose from 3 Options).

Leopard has better armor, better view range, as for the gun i think you really sacriface quite a lot for that autoreloader, dpm, acc, 3 second intra clip reload is not that great, so thats something to consider when comparing. Still, any newer released tank is usually better than the old ones.
