As someone who does not play WoWs, I enjoy watching the battles on here. I get a bit of a history lesson on different ships, game strategy, and the singling out of both good & bad game play. And sometimes, if the game play [or player's moniker] is outrageous enough; or if the "chat" is spicy enough - - we're treated to a "Jingles" laughter. I just wish I knew enough of this game to throw in "Well actually Jingles. . . " once in awhile.

Agreed. It was actually a Jingles video that introduced me to WoWS in the first place. His first one featuring the Großer Kurürst. His humour, trivia and delivery sold me both on his channel and the game. These days I have more than enough information to pull an akchually Jingles™, but I prefer to just enjoy the Jinglesism for what it is.

the QE's actual mistake was not turning bow-in to the Leander as soon as he saw him - rather he wanted to get all his guns firing, thus opening his broadside to either set of torps. so the main lesson here is to not get greedy - do the safe thing when the game is on the line.

Honestly there isn't any optimal option when you're faced with a RN cruiser that close- bowing in gives up half your guns, and if you don't kill him with the 2 front guns you're basically guaranteed to eat single launch torpedoes to the face. You always want to turn out against torpedo ships, which is why the main mistake here was going to the right of the island in the first place when he knew a torpedo cruiser was there.

Man, clutch moves by both the Hill and the Leander at the end to bring the team back from the brink of defeat. Protip: when you kill a ship that has torpedoes, ALWAYS assume that those torpedoes are on their way after you sink the ship. It's often the last thing a player will do when they know they're about to die.

I'm a little surprised that SR turned broadside to the DD who ISN"T firing it's guns, which means it IS torping. Kinda unusual for him to make that kind of mistake. Leander was a rockstar.

Mostly because he couldn't have known my heading when he fired them. I was going the opposite direction when I came out of the smoke and he spotted me. He made a good guess, and I turned back north right into them.

15:35 ACHTUALLY JINGLES, you CAN tell how far you are away from a smokescreen. If you're zoomed in and aim at around where the smokescreen is, it shows how far you are from where you're aiming. Regardless, that Hill should have realized visually he was pretty damn close to the smoke.

The thing is with Leander is that despite only being a T6 CL, WG has had to beat it endlessly with the nerf bat because it's bloody good cruiser, so someone who knows what they're doing with it, as Demotivated obviously does, are an absolute nightmare to deal with. And SeaRaptor coming second with a T5 version of Leander kind of show that it has at least of that Leander DNA in it.

If the Leander had sent this replay to the gnomish overlord the title would have been different 😉 The QE just had a really bad position at the end there, when he spotted the Leander at 16:15 his course was already set and he couldn't swerve past the islands on the outside. He should have turned south at 16:00 and made the Leander come to him in open water.

happens to the best of us. This moment when you have clawed yourself out of an iffy situation with mostly skill, bit of luck and a good portion of situational awarness, killed the enemy ship(s) and then your brain instantly goes from high-alert-trying-to-anticipate-every-possible-enemy-move to all-good-now-lets-have-tea-and-crackers-no-need-to-worry-about-a-thing mode and you get caught by (very predictable) torps like that. And that moment when your highly nimble and respsonsive Battleship overturns just that wee bit to not clear the pesky island in front of you, making you either eat torps, getting burned to crisp or a parental citadel paddling, is also a classic.

11:30 Obvious torpedoes are obvious, but they certainly help to stop enemy ships from pushing. Without those torps, SeaRaptor would have definitely been able to push the Leander there and then.

Jingles' opinion on the Gneisenau is so skewed toward subjective bias that it's not funny. The secret is, the Gneisenau isn't the greatest brawler despite that it's a German battleship. It's a commerce raider and therefore more of a slow battlecruiser. It's designed to pick on smaller targets than itself: cruisers. It's not designed to take on BBs solo.

I think Jingles expects the Gneisenau to play like a traditional German BB. I know the Shiny Horse has better dispersion, but the Gneisenau is a funner ship to play than the Bismarck because of the torp option.

Talking about the horrors of bumping into a BB in a CL, i did that once in a Budyeony, promptly dumped my torps without even aiming much and ran. the New York didn't shoot at me and actually ran into my torps and sank... to torps with about a 5.5k range...

I knew that was going to happen. The Hill was that close to either put torps into the smoke or into the Beth, so circling around was going to put you into the path either way. Best option in that situation was to kill the Hill and either point your bow or stern toward her wreckage until you know where her fish are going.

Actually Jingles, Delhi as any other T5 cruiser have 13mm plating not 16mm. They can be overmatched by things like Pensacola or Aoba. I learned the hard way on my Exeter. Got demolished by Pensacola.

I just got my shimakaze recently and you just have no idea how many torps i have hit at 15 kms. People just donr expect torps and pay the heavy price. This is the exact reason why they nerfed subs to begain with because subs are easiest ships to reach close with. Its basically giant stealthy torpedo launching more torpedos.

This was a great game with perfect elements of winning harder. The Queen Elizabeth didn’t need to keep pushing forward. With three caps and 350 points lead. They should’ve turned tail and ran for cap circle D. The enemies needed to sink them to have a chance of winning and if the Queen Elizabeth was sailing away torpedos would’ve been much harder to land in volume. Compared to chugging on a full salvo from sailing into an island.

Those last Hill torps were obvious but the side/direction where he launched them wasn't. I was (and would in game) expecting them on Delhis right side. To be honest that beach landing might have been calculated by the QE player and as we saw it payed off but the thing is he didn't calculated on missing some shots before (or the all mighty RNG giving him overpens) and he might have misjudged torpedo launcher angles on Leander and was afraid to take a shot sooner. Of course it would have been better to drag Leander behind him, to disengage, but it is easier to say it now then to do it in the heat of the battle. Anyway great job from the last few players on both sides.

To be fair, the queen would have eaten the first set of torpedoes if she'd not grounded herself there. I think the game was pretty much lost as soon as the Leander was spotted that close with the island minimizing the maneuverability of the queen E.
