There was a Korean guy that also fought in 3 armies. First he gets conscripted by the IJA and gets caught by the Red Army during the border clashes in Manchuria. Come 1941, the Red Army had him still in captivity and needed manpower, so he gets conscripted into the Red Army and sent west to fight the Germans. Fighting at the Eastern Front, he gets captured by the German Army, who are in need of manpower as well, so he gets conscripted again and gets to fight against the Allies during D-Day, where he gets captured again. Luckily for him, the allies didn't conscript him again to fight against the Japanese.

At 13:50 the Akizuki got hard spotted by the Cleveland, so to him in his UI it looked like Sonar just went off because the spottted icons changed. So he probabaly thought that he could get 1-2 volley of torps off and retreat. Sure, he was spotted but his torps would not have been for a couple more seconds. (Or so he thought)

That was me in the Alsace, and your commentary was spot on. Its been awhile ago, but I vaguely remember that match. I either didnt pay attention to the two Yamato's across the map, or had it in my head they might not pay attention. Either way, spot on call, I over committed. Actually Jingles, you can scout in a Khaba: 1) Standard Flamu tank build with Heal instead of smoke. 2) Get on a flank, head towards enemy. As soon as either you're spotted or you spot an enemy hit the Speed Boost, go evasive and open fire at the largest ship you can find. 3) If you have Priority Target equipped it'll tell you how many ships you've just spotted. My record is nine.

its a little known fact that the GK can face-tank a yamato. it has a either 50mm or 70mm armor belt (i cant remember which) running all the way up to the bow, covering almost all of it, so the yammie has to get EXTREMELY lucky to overmatch the front of the ship

I've heard that Jingles now gets 60% of his salt from chat instead of the mines... Anything and everything is cheating if it benefits you and is negative to the enemy. I haven't seen anything like it since I left school twentyigfyidg years ago, I fully expect the enemy players to pull my hair at some point. They may be reworking the full pens on DD's from a BB. But what should happen in reality is an over pen from a BB should have a slight chance of flooding a DD. If you think about an AP shell poking a 16"+ hole in a DD through the ship would have a chance of dipping below the water line and causing flooding from a 16"+ hole.

I don't know, the Khabarovsk is not that selfish actually. It's the only gunboat that allows you to tank entire enemy teams for minutes without taking more than half your health in damage in return. I've successfully pushed caps against a greater number of enemy ships simply by tanking for friendly cruisers, leaving them free to burn and citadel the enemies to death. This works incredibly well if you also manage to get two smoke ships on your side. If fleet-footed gunnery is what you're interested in, the Khabarovsk is the only unselfish option available. Every other ship is either slower, less maneuverable or unable to tank. Also, the Akizuki may not have known that Sonar was up. She was in proximity detection range for the Cleveland, thereby hiding the Sonar/Radar detection alert with the standard detection. She may have figured the Sonar ended. Still does not explain her inching out so far, unless she thought she would be able to somehow escape detection range before she took fatal damage.

At the start the reason the Asashio was being left alone could simply be no one wanted to shoot at him it can happen you have teams who won't shoot at DDs that are close to them because they want the big damage scores from shooting bigger ships, only last night I killed 2 DDs in my Missouri (they really did not react well to being killed by a battleship, I think I got reported 3 times for that by them) because our DDs and a 6" Mogomi were far more interested in shooting German battleships at maximum range. It might well not be the reason but some people really refuse to shoot at DDs

My 2 cent about the DD problem. What if you just give them some heals or a module/camo or something like that which increases dispersion of enemy shells fired at it by a certain %. This way BBs will still enjoy pening these ships and also they will gain more survivability. Considering the fact that players cannot alter the physical ship layout/armour values (aka apply extra steel plates of armour at the cost of mass or something) this would be something to consider.

And as for the battleship AP on destroyers problem? What Wargaming needs to do is fix the double-dipping bug in which a single AP shell can score two penetrations when it detonates in the middle of an internal bulkhead. Something that's far more likely to happen when hitting a destroyer than on anything else.

i find 1 thing incorrect if i hit a destroyer right in the back of the ship and a ok flat angle it should not overpen. i never heard of a shell that went trough say about 25 mteres long ship with all the bulkheads in between the shell should do the full damage!

This is true. And even if they DO overpen, a DD is a small ship that can't afford too many two foot holes going through it. I can see them making BB shells overpen... but they should also have a flood chance when hitting DDs.
