as a now cartrier main i see the problem i used to think that ac were overpowered because all people would do was spam torpedo bombers then i recently found out ( i started a month ago) you could prioritise different sides and that if the team is coordinated ( found out when i played langley for the first time) it is impossible to do anything thats why i tell people on my team to isolate targets and take them out

Until they fix battleships' gun accuracy and destroyers/cruisers "set them on fire" spam ability, ships of the line will stay food for cruisers and carriers. I simply have hard time believing 152/203mm shells that don't penetrate battleship armour can cause so many fires so frequently...

+the sniper Only Fighter squadron's are Jets both in the USN and IJN. The rest are Prop planes. still Midway is OP. The current CV's. Midway's torpedo spread are much tigther in spacing/spread without enemy AA fire and drop zone is nearer to the circle compared to the IJN's Hakuryu Torpedo Bombers which has wider torpedo spread even without enemy AA firing at them and the drop zone for the torpedo is farther inside the circle meaning you have to commit the torp drops earlier and higher chance of missing specially with the wider torpedo spread.. But right now you can try all Tier 10's on WOWs Public Test which is open Right now for EU servers until Tomorrow. And Midway is OP as fuck. Whilst Hakuryu got nerfed........ I might upload 2 gameplay's of Hakuryu and Midway to see how "EASY" midway is compared to Hakuryu now. ^both in Manual Drops for Torpedoes. Midway at the moment with its Torpedo Bombers is like having a DD firing 12 Torpedoes at very close range and getting the kill without getting damaged at all since your Bombers take the brunt of the AA fire.

I remember a while ago I was in my tier IV Wyoming when I was attacked by a carrier player who setup his torpedo bombers with the 'Anvil attack' tactic. Two sets of torpedo bombers, one on each side of my port and starboard bow, both squadrons went in simultaneously and gave me a pyramid of torps to the face. I've seen a lot of ichases' vids, he appears to have a firm grasp on how the game mechanics work for each ship class and makes full effective use of their advantages. Hats off to him, he never ceases to leave me slack-jawed.

I have not seen many high tier games, and it was interesting to see how this played out. It seems like the mechanics are trying to make it as realistic as possible, for an arcade game. In reality, it would be rare to see a battleship attacking on its own, and carriers are generally at the centre of their squadron. I guess this could give a huge advantage to effective platoons

It should also be noted that the amagi at the start should have seem those TB planes from far off, but continued sailing straight. if you dont sail straight, it's possible to to make less than a full torp load hit you as well as make it harder for the enemy carrier to predict your path.

This is an apt demonstration of how strong the old rts carriers are, and I still would much rather have this than what we currently have. Aircraft kills meant something! And I'm definitely salty that the "good" AA on all my cruisers doesn't matter anymore, and hasn't mattered for years.

The Midway is OP though, it can destroy targets at will even if you have multiple ships grouped up, unless it's a group of Des Moines, something like multiple BB's is not good enough AA to deter any skilled Midway Captain. Sure they'll always go for stragglers but, if there's no stragglers, that doesn't mean that can't still easily score kills.

One way to avoid (most) air dropped torpedoes is to turn towards or away from the torpedo bombers when you see them coming towards you. That way they wont get a broadside on you.

Jingles, destroyers get easly torpedo or dive bombed by carriers, while Tirpitz at higher tier are always an easy target for carriers.

I do think the reason you can't/don't try to dodge torpedo bombers is because the minimum range from release point to target for aircraft-dropped torpedoes are too short. There's always no point in avoiding them (unless you are a moderately fast cruiser or a destroyer).

You can't dodge close torpedo drops from planes , but you can minimize the damage your going to take by turning towards the torps , like instead of 8 torps you can take half of em and doge the other four

You can dodge air dropped torps, well it's not really dodging though. you have to see the planes coming and maneuver pre emptively to make yourself a difficult target.

Ever since the battleship AA nerf, high tier carriers are OP. They balanced tier 8,9 and to BB's with tier 6 and 7 carriers, so when a carrier of the same or similar tier shows up they are dead meat. Even when maneuvering, and even when they have escorts.
