BBs: Sinop or Gneisenau are likely the best BBs, because of good armour, overmatch guns, decent speed and ability to force an engagement. Other BBs are a bit behind, no BB really is terrible, though KGV and Lyon are likely the least impactful, though I'd rate KGV over Lyon. Would overall rate Sinop/Gneisenau > Nagato > Colorado > KGV > Lyon Cruisers: Fiji is best light cruiser among tech tree options. Helena is ok, but not as good. The Shchors is just not recommended. Heavy cruisers, Myoko or Yorck. NO has good AP, but just is too slow and lacks torps to get my recommendation, while Yorck has an overall solid package of survivability, torpedo threat, decent consistent HE and devastating AP, Myoko has nice survivability, good HE and a devastating and accurate broadside. Algerie can be interesting due to speed boost and main battery reload boost. Zara is iffy. It can do well, but has no hydro and stuff like Sinop is too hard to damage. Zara can be extremely devastating with its SAP on broadsides, can pull meme plays with smoke and has a spotter plane (which combined with solid 203 mm guns means you can actually snipe British cruisers in smoke that can get overmatched by 203s), but it needs a lot of skill to pull off and others are more forgiving likely and more consistent. DDs: Shiratsuyu has the best concealment among tech tree options, but otherwise is mediocre. Gadjah Mada is quite powerful, but cannot hit DDs with torps. Jervis might be a better pick than GM and I'd likely rate it the best tech tree DD pick, due to good torps, good guns, decent smoke utility, maneuverability and hydro. Vauquelin is not a bad option either, but requires knowledge on how to DD gunboat without dying. Minsk is basically a mediocre Vauquelin that can fall back on smoke, just would not use it. Maas and Mahan have crap concealment, so they get a no from me. Akatsuki is barely making the concealment cut, is ok if you got nothing better. Craps out torps like no tomorrow, better than the Shiratsuyu with TRB. Skane, I have no idea how good it really is. But I'd say, Vauquelin is better. Heal is nice, but heal still doesn't make Tashkent beat Mogador. Main Battery Reload Boost is insanely powerful.

It can rack up huge amounts of damage whilst kiting away. But yes, armor is non-existent and the rest is made out of citadel and flammable rags...

@@noob4life1981 It works ok when kiting away, but kiting enemies to death isn't how Ranked works. Kiting would mean ceding ground, allowing enemies to get the objectives. A Fiji or Helena are just better ships for fighting around objectives, same with Boise. Heavy cruisers are tons better for not suddenly disintegrating when hit funnily. And you want consistency from a cruiser, which the Shchors just does not deliver to the degree other cruisers do. Add to that that the Shchors as a light cruiser needs IFHE, so 14 captain points and then has a horrendous fire chance compared to heavy cruisers like Myoko or even Yorck, while still struggling with any reinforced decks. Shchors really was hit hard by IFHE rework in randoms and it is the worst of the T7 cruisers to take into ranked. Feel free to use it, it can still do something, but I'd rate every other cruiser higher in terms of being able to actually win games.

Hood might be a bit of a dark horse; she's good when equal tier, has some nasty guns and decent armour. Plus, speed is armour right?

Hood is solid. Would rate higher than Nagato and Colorado, but unlike Gneisenau it has to mind its distance and thus can less into high impact play where you might just blitzkrieg into an enemy force. The Hood for a BB is ok, but it needs time to work. Time it might not have. But same is for Nagato and Colorado.

Hoods Armor and speed make her one of the best kiting BBs in the game. Lolorado is more of an ambush predator. I’ve got 2/3 of my First Blood/Dev Strike awards from her.

Armor is not that good, 400+mm guns cittadel her very easy through the nose. I have played her in rank sprint and when I had to push, at 10km or less enemy nagato cittadel me at every shot. Guns hit hard but the damage is not consistent, you can have 15-20k salvos and than 2-3k salvos on broadside targets with a lot of overpens. I would rate Ashitaka over Hood, Amagi class guns at t7 you can't beat.

I think we'll see a few Haidas and Z-39s as well. They both have that carry potential. Maybe Akatsuki? The 3x3 10km launchers with a pretty fast reload are nice, even with 6.4km maximum concealment. There's also Indianapolis. 10km radar at tier 7 plus accurate 8 inch American guns. I think that will be the Belfast counter right there.

I always see you play GK at the start of your videos. For non competitive purposes is it fun for just messing around in randoms? Unfortunately I’m still on the Bismarck and really want to keep her and am dreading the FDG. So is the GK fun?

The only two of these that I have are the Nuevo de Julio a & Scharnhorst. The Scharnhorst, though not a bad boat.... between Sinops and fast-firing cruisers she will get eaten alive. I don't see her being very effective. I don't play the Nuevo much, I haven't quite figured her out, so I pretty much suck when playing her. My issues with her are the maneuverability and guns. Don't get me wrong me wrong... I like the guns... but they are very floaty making aiming at range hard. That is largely what I meant by "figuring her out". Gun range is limited which forces her in close to the enemy, hence risking spotting. And she really can't take a hit. She has a decent health pool, and even with the heal.... (which isn't all that) she risks early demise. As far as maneuverability, she is slow for a cruiser. T7 battleships are faster! She also has a terrible turning radius. Despite all that, I do like the boat... but I do not see her as a viable option... speaking for myself, that is... I'm just not good with her. If I want to participate in this ranked battle... I might go with a DD.... But my options are limited to the Mahan (I don't have the Sims), Maas, or Z39. The Mahan can win almost any gunfight against other T7 DDs... so if I play her, I would have to force engagement. Of course that usually means that multiple enemies will be shooting at me at the same time, and that's not so good. The Germans are generally good with nice guns... and the hydro is attractive... but their concealment sucks and their smoke duration is lacking. I don't see IJN DDs being game-makers in here. The Haida might be the best candidate for this event... but I don't have her. As for cruisers... Maybe Fiji?? Soots well but has the same issue as all mid-tier cruisers... easily goes "BOOM". Finally... I do have a Colorado... I like her guns and she is tanky.... but against Sinops or BBs with torps... not a good option, especially considering her speed... or lack thereof. Hmmm... I don't really have a strong candidate for this event. Well... I guess I'll just have to do what I can!

The Nelson is a baby Thunderer. The Nelson's HE has a 48% chance of starting a fire and will penetrate 101 mm of armor. While it was still allowed, I played the Nelson with a commander with the IFHE skill, so the chance of starting a fire was still 46%, but the pen was 131 mm. Those days are over, but the Nelson is still able to start a fire on a cruiser, with a citadel hit. I do not expect there to be any European DDs in ranked battles, as the tier VII Skane only excels at shooting down aircraft. The simplest way to describe the Euro DDs from tier V and up is take the French DD of the same tier, improve the AA by a lot, while reducing survivability, artillery, and torpedo strength. I really wanted to like the new Euro DDs, and they are an interesting challenge to play, but they cannot be both competitive and aggressive. The Skane might get a modicum of success by using the long range of its torpedoes (7.2 km against a 30 knot ship running directly away from the launcher), the number of hits needed to sink anything will make this an exercise for the very patient. The big problem with the Skane is that even an Atlanta can still be afloat after being hit with only 4 torpedoes from the Skane and no BB is going to be sunk with less than eight hits. The French tier VII DD Vauquelin, can come round a headland, send three torpedoes at a cruiser, six torpedoes at the BB that was with the cruiser, and sink BOTH. The DDs of other nations can surprise a pair of cruisers. The Skane can stealth torpedo cripples. [tangent] One of the fun things about the French ships is that there may be an odd distinction between ships that served in the Mediterranean Sea and those that were intended for Atlantic service-- park benches! Many, but not all, french ships have pleasant looking benches on the main deck where an off-duty crewman might have a pleasant sit down.[/tangent]

Moving on now to number 4, errrrrrrrr that's 3. Flint doesn't have radar either, it has hydro. Omfg Helena doesn't have radar either. The only tier 7 ships with radar are the Atlanta and Indianapolis and Belfast. Also here is the correct information in regards to Nikolay Kuznetzov: The Concealed Reserves talent grants +1 charge to each mounted consumable upon earning the "First Blood" achievement. Will to Victory talent: Once per battle, if his ship's HP drops below 10%, the following activate for 30 seconds: "Damage control party" effect is applied (no consumable charge expended) "Repair party" regenerates up to 7.5% HP (no consumable charge expended) Dispersion of shells fired by the enemy at his ship increases by 20%.

Not to worry, even without IFHE, Belfast and Flint pack enough DPM to burn everything, even the mighty Sinop. What I've seen, especially when top tiered, Flint and Belfast due to their reputation have this thing on making ships not pushing the cap zone, with enemies rather abandoning and trying their best in running, I'm 85% sure that the same thing will happen in ranked. T7 ships can't do much to a smoke spammer, especially if he has good spotting.

Abruzzi, another Italian premium ship is also good, i do not have Nuevo de Julio(sp?). 7.5 sec reload. She's a light cruiser with 152 guns 15k range. I really like this ship, especially if you like playing an open-water gunboat style CA . Downside, imo, is she needs a captain with a lot of skills to let her truly shine. She also comes with a heal at t7 which is nice, you can really go aggressive because of that. Fiji is a monster also. A tech tree Brit light cruiser. Fiji is so good, all the remaining ships in that line are a downgrade IMO. Fiji is like Abruzzi, but with smoke. Gonna see a lot of those.

Sinop belfast, Fiji, Z-39.. everyone seems to forget Lazo it has no armor but it does have 20km range with its 10 sec cd spoter and with soviet gun ballistics (got more arsonists and whitherers in that thing then in Zao, conq and herny iV combined)

Good video, good points. Nothing below is an argument against your choices. So, they buffed the armor for two Tier VII cruisers this patch - the Yorck and the New Orleans. (Bow and stern from 16 mm to 25 mm) Since I do pretty well with the Admiral Hipper I have been playing the Yorck a fair amount after the patch dropped, hoping for a slightly downgraded Hipper. Nope. Just no. Using both the "Expert Marksman" captain skill and the Main Battery Modification 2 upgrade you can only get the turret 180 turn down to 26.9 seconds which is just not good enough with this turret configuration. Good guns, but I can't both maneuver and get enough rounds down range to matter. Too bad - 17.3 km range for a heavy cruiser at this tier would be useful. I sold my New Orleans, but am thinking of buying it back. Six guns pointing forward, 180 turn time is 27.7 seconds without any mods - might be OK now that they have doubled up on the Reynolds Wrap on the bow.

I plan to use Boise and Fiji. I don't do DD's much at all. BB, maybe Nagato. But mostly cruisers. I don't see a better cruiser than Fiji. Smoke, torps, heal, super maneuverable, 12 fast guns. Yeah, no fire setting, and I love the Helena and Myoko but the heal is big.

Amagi is good at long range sniping. Bismark is good at close in (around 11km with proper build) brawling. Bismark built full secondary does get around 11 km secondary range. Couple that with manual secondaries and you can shred dds. Your hydro is your life. Amagi likes to snipe targets at long range with japanese accuracy. Then just be patient and drop off detection once people start to notice you, reposition and do it again.

But that's why the Hydro is for...

Only radars in T7 are Belfast, Atlanta, and Indianapolis. Boise/NDJ are great against the Atlanta the premium HE spammers. The Helena gets 1.5 km more range than the Boise; but the Boise has a heal that can forgive a lot of mistakes; particularly against those HE spammers which is why it's strong against them. The Boise's limp range (13.4km effective, though it says 13.6km) makes it BB fodder though. Playing cruisers in T7 is a real rock, paper, scissors game.

Hood is a fantastic pick for this season her armour is good for the tier not the best but workable her guns are even better than Gneisnau 8*15 inch and with the buff the got she can citadel Tier 9 BBs without any issues and she is even faster than Gnei with a speed flag she does 33.5 knots so she can get out of trouble just as fast as she can get into it and she can keep up with the cruisers and run a lot of them down if needed making her very flexible she has RN HE so a fire chance arguably second only to the Nelson (KGV probably joint due to the extra 2 guns) KGV will also be pretty usefull she has good armour good manoeuvrability and godly HE and at Tier 7 the deficiencies in her AP wont be a factor. Surrey will also be very good ship as she has good guns for the tier is stealthy as all hell and has a surprisingly tanky deck as I often tank Tier 9 ships with her and she has a heal. I honestly think s good as the Sinop is the limited DC charges make her an xp piñata in ranked as she will be burnt to death within the first min every game

I enjoyed Sinop far more than I am currently with the Vlad. It's like, somehow, the Russian Navy created an outstanding T7 BB (where most of the other standard tech tree T7 BBs suck) while making the T8 BB suck (where most of the other standard tech tree T8 BBs are quite good). I'll probably troll around in Gadja Mada as well. That's a fun tin can to drive at that level.

Railgun enemies from the moon and likely put up top dmg while listening to your clueless team mates tell you to play the ship in a way it wasn't designed and be closer so you can die as swiftly as they will by their own poor decisions.

The 2 German bbs are the way to go 8 km secondaries and both have a center-line turret in the back which gives you extreme numbers of secondaries. So Geni can put 12 guns on target on a side Sharn it's 14 but ill take Geni over it the speed and the 128s and the 380s that will over match 26 mm of bow. With about 1000 games between them I have like a 61-62% WR in both so they are both great Geni just hits harder and that speed might not sound like much but its all the difference when dodging incoming shells and turning to give the belt.

About the Sinop: Kuznetsov's special abilities don't work in Clan Battles and Ranked. Also, YOu should at least include one DD in this list. I'd pick the Haida.

Hmm i hated playing Gneisenau back when i was grinding the german BBs but that was before the buff. I will probably go with Sinop and Fiji (dont have the Belfast) and maybe schtschors (or however this is spelled, the soviet tech line CL) because i had fun playing it and i need the xp on it anyway.

My choice depends on lack of better possibilities, not only the ship but also the captains. DD: Haida because of the good consealment and the long lasting hydro. Skane could be an option for torping from the flank CA: Gorizia seems to be a good alrounder. SAP, 6km hydro, smoke. Problably good for pushing DD. And I have Sansonetti skilled for her. BB: Nelson or Gneisenau. I perform better with the Nelson. HE spamming with her is very annoyong and you can hit even DD with her.

Honestly? I would prefer Ashitaka or Nagato over your #1 Sinop any day. Both have 410mm main guns, the Ashitaka is basically a tier 7 Amagi with 10 guns, the Nagato has 8 guns. both are well armored and pack a serious punch if these highly accurate main guns hit.

I would take this into a heavy BB meta) #5 Lyon/KGV/Helena (Can't go wrong with any of these ships if you don't have any of the first 4)

The torpedos and pretty much everything on the Yuudachi is so garbage, I'd honestly rather use a Shiratsuyu without smoke if I just want the 16 torp wall. The Yuudachi just is the worst T7 DD.

@@lubossoltes321 Scharnhorst, and also Gneisenau are excellent picks. Scharnhorst has it all, and since it's only struggle is being uptiered to tier IX, it's gonna be great in ranked without a doubt. Same goes for Geneisenau, however to a lesser extent. Sinop is by far the strongest tier VII BB in randoms, and there is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be strong in ranked. Nagato hits like a truck but is rather squishy, but still viable for the sheer damage potential imo. Can't say much for the other Tier VII BBs though.

Fiji. A well played Fiji can outplay a Belfast. Also Jervis, Haida and Gadjah Mada for DDs. Boise/Nueve are a gimmicky Helena with less range and concealment in exchange for a super heal that is not going to save them from a blapping. I would add Indianapolis as well, decent long range HE performance against bbs and hydro+radar for DDs and BALANS payfast with great AP. Btw, Belfast has 152 mm. I wish it had 127... but no, 152. So with IFHE it will be very easily able to pen any BB at t7 no problem.

well... if you aren't going to have the haida on your top ships for ranked then I don't know how seriously I can take this video. Video title should be, "Top Cruisers and BBs for next ranked season". Also, I don't know why your Gneis made this list. You do not perform well in that ship at all. Anyway, I did the flamuu speech, no onto my list. Mine would probably be #1 Sinop #2 Belfast #3 Haida #4-5 Flint/Atlanta/Nueve -Sinop... no reason to take any other BB... unless it is really heavy BB season and maybe could have a reason to bring a nelson out to backline burn down their BBs. -Belfast... Debateably a #1 pick. I would not have any issues with someone ranking this #1. I feel like for most potatoes though, a sinop is deadlier. A bad belfast player can get punished where a bad sinop player can usually get away with it. -Haida... Deadly HE damage. good fire starting capability as well. A good Haida captain will be invaluable to a team this season. Low rewards for spotting and capping so it would be a harder ship to save your star in then others. -Flint/atlanta/Nueve... I grouped these as it is mostly all the same playstyle. They are slightly different so it would depend on what you have or what the meta is. If it is heavy cruiser meta, then I would take the Nueve. If it is heavy DD meta, then I would take Atlanta (or skip atlanta and use the #2 pick), and if it is a heavy BB meta, then I would take the Flint. That is my list and the reasons why I rank them where I do. Basemastar NA & EU

It's Guten Tag, not Gutentaug. Scharnhorst shooting HE is about as useful as a NO shooting HE. Gneisenau is to me simply better because the guns are just much better at dealing with BBs and with ships like Yorck getting 25 mm bow and stern, a Yorck to a Scharn is what a Hipper is to a Bismarck, somethng that either burns you down from range with little you can do about it or a close range massive torp threat, given it has massively better maneuverability and double the amount of torps. Flint doesn't get radar... nor does Helena... Sealord, please... And what American AP? Boise is a light cruiser, they get a pretty standard 152 mm AP shell that is basically just... AP. Even Mainz is better, because it at least deals more damage. Personally, likely going Gneisenau. Sinop might seem better, but they all think they are, until they are at 6 km range and suddenly start getting wrecked. And they cannot turn, because they would show side, while Gneisenau is the OG T7 with BS armour scheme, better deck plating, reinforced bow, turtleback, 350 mm of stupid belt... Alternatively, Myoko or Yorck might be worth trying out, given they seem to be the best heavy cruisers at T7, while the Zara might be taken out for some derpy games, but cannot say it's too great, given that while it has some potential, it just is too hard to deal with threats like Sinop effectively and no hydro is rough. Sadly Indianapolis doesn't get 25 mm bow like NO, else that might be lulz.

I always pronounce it kinda like ngneisenau. Hard to describe typing but it's like a g sound but the tongue stays on the roof of my mouth as it rolls into the "n" rather than coming off and making the g sound and the the n sound.

Fiji,belfast,boise,nelson,sinop and z-39. That is all you need, schanhorst and gnei are worthless and damage pinatas:scharn can not overmatch anything at this tier and gnei has unreliable main guns and secondarys are a joke.

But, you can ONLY have a BB OR a CV. Can't have both. CV's really made clan battles bad. Way too much influence on the game, based on CV captain skill level. Will play the Schors and Sinop. I don't do premiums unless they were given to me.

I hate being hit by that ship almost as much as I hated playing it that reload is awful and her handling is awful she has no secondaries to speak of and in a close quarter brawl the German will win. Still that ship can deal some amazing shots.
