Agree , only commander that I send coal was Sansonetti , and I saved duplicates if I am not misstaken that cost me 72k coal , so that was cheap .

The thing I like about Lütjens is that his abilities work in co-op. You don't need achievements to set them off, just hits and ribbons.

Yamamoto's Kraken talent is a "win more" button and only helps in situations where the game is basically already won.

I run Yamamoto on my Kitakaze, I usualy prock the 1st blood talent, and I prock kraken fairly regualrely in it, so it lowers my reload to 1,2 seconds with Adrenalin rush, I think I even managed to get it sub 1second once with all the skills, the drpos and the kraken, that was crazy fun, got a DPM better than CLs.

Yamamoto Kraken talent is rare , I have 108 Kraken and not all on Japanise ship , but I made my 2 personal records thatnk to that , both on Musashi in 2 diffrent battles one 336k dmg and 8 kills in one battle ... but Yamamoto is for free , so for noobs is great as there is free collection bonus pacage .

You'd be surprised, in the vast majority of cases my krakens have been in very close games, that lasted long enough for me to be able to get a kraken. Hell 1/3rd of my krakens are from losses.

When I started playing wows around 2021 I made it my mission to get U-C Lutjens after that happened it was easier to get Ships faster and more Xp,FXP. and Lutjens was my first 21 point achievement now I have all. great vid!.

There's only one ship Lutjens should ever be trained to drive, and that's the Bismarck. A lot of people like to train him for the Schlieffen, but the historical innaccuracy of doing so upsets me on a fundamental level.

I also recommend to collect the coal legendary commanders before gaining coal premium ships as it takes a lot longer to reach 21 commander points than to collect another 200+k for a premium coal ship

Enjoy him. It's probably the most op Commander in WoWs. And why is not Kuznetzov? Because he was nerfed some tima ago, and his Will of victory no longer lasts 30 secs but 15. Still, very strong, but the 2nd best Commander.

The problem with all of these unique commanders is getting them from 19 to 21 points. When the commander rework happened, both my Halsey and Yamamoto where at 19 points. Getting the additional 1200 commander xp/free XP etc for them and my other T19 commanders was a real pain for me. Also you're in a situation where the unique commander is tied to just 1 techline ship (without penalty) but can migrates easily between premiums of the same nation, which encourages the purchase of more premiums (Bet that was one of WG's key game monitization considerations). I do like Cunningham and Lutgens though. Interesting video. thx SLM

You are slightly right, the hardest is the first 21pt commander, after that you will gaain a lot more elite xp and get faster the next 21pt:)

@@kaollachan Auboyneau doesn't really suit other tech tree ships than Kleber, since devstrikes are rare on marseille and repub, and you don't enter caps with henry. It is however pretty strong on a lot of premiums/freemiums : marceau, bourgogne, jean bart and colbert mainly. You can make a different build for each ship type, and then rotate him around as you wish, since there is no retraining cost.

Unfortunatly there are only a couple of french ships where he truly shine. (most notably marceau and colbert) On everything else running Honore is usually a better choice.

I have them all and you nailed the categories for each. Sa Zhenbing is the only unique commander I have not fully levelled up, just not a priority as he is meh. Sansonetti really impactful as those Italian ships (cruisers and BB's) lack range and that range boost is sweet and easy to get early game.

Grinding a line to Tier X/XI seems easy but grinding a commander to 21, OMG, takes forever. And some ships really need it, like the Schlieffen or Kleber.

As far as im concerned, lutjens is probably the best comander in the game simply because of what he offers and the number of dhips he goes on. A must for germsn ships.

There are commanders in the challenges or is it collections (I think 3) and the 175k coal commanders. Then there are the 35k commanders with special abilities (not all lines have one, WG...). After that there are commanders, you can move from premium ships and not get retraining. (the 1500 doubloon ones, and the transformers, anima, Santas, and other weird stuff) What is left are the normal commanders you get with the ships.

Lutjens is my next buy. I got got lucky and got that Atlanta German ship in crate drop. After seeing you put him in yours in that video. I figured why not it will cost me all my coal but why not. With Tirpitz and GK working on getting the other GK tech replacement since GK is Premium or something.

Jesus, I only just realized how great Yamamoto could be in Operations. The only issue is it requires First Blood and Kraken, if it were based on just getting kills, even if only for the second skill, it'd be AMAZINGLY useful for Operations. The only other downside is there aren't any Japanese ships I'd want to USE in Operations, Atago at a stretch, but not over Mainz, Anchorage, Rochester, Kutuzov, Irian, or a handful of others.

If I play like 0.5-1 hour per day, what should I go for first, Commander or Ship? I have Lutjens for coal, GK and Marceu. I wanted to get Napoli next, however I'm tempted to get Cunningham... Just thinking out loud. Thanks Sea Lord, I was looking for a video like this. Edit: Is it a good idea to have IFHE on Lutjens when I do Brawling with GK, Pommern and BCs? I would love to see more Unique commanders. Even alternates for nations we already have. Jerzi is awesome, but the DDs he works best with are Swedish, and we now have a line with a few Polish DDs. Revamp Jerzi for gunboats, and 'old' Jerzi is renamed for a Swedish commander? I would knock Halsey down a tier only because he works best on cruisers for me, and none of his skills really lean into CVs. He was best known for being a CV commander, and it is weird that I don't even bother having him on mine. Again, respec Halsey as a CV captain, and then offer another US captain and lean into the ship type they are best known for. Burke and DDs is a good idea. Sansonetti I would bump up one since it is easy to get his skills to pop. And those skills do help a lot.

You need to decide what you want to do before you start picking special commanders. If you’re planning on playing clan battles, none of the unique abilities will work. For clan the middle tier named commanders are better since they get a skill boost that still works in competitive. Lutjens is probably the best choice for the first unique Commander. He supercharges any German ship you put him on which makes it easier to earn coal for the next.

If WG wants to print money they need a star captain loot box. Each box gives you 1 captain level 6 to 14 with 1 to 4 random stars. And include rare skills like a 2.5% to concealment expert. Don't make the boxes too expensive like 500 gold and players will buy hundreds Of them to get that perfect captain.

Here's a question for the community. What can you do about players that are on your team and are doing absolutely nothing to help. As in they don't try and cap, they don't launch a single torp, they don't fire a single round. Guy finished the round with 189 points. Did a brawl last night and got this guy on my team for two rounds back to back. First round I died early (because he wouldn't move to get a cap, so I tried too). So I watched him the entire round. Again we were doing brawl. He was our only DD. HE DID ABSOLUTELY nothing. But sail around the map as far away from everything. Second round he tried to do similar, but I kept telling the other team where he was and he got spawned in center of map, so he couldn't do much. So they killed him early on. But I mean he cost us the second round. And this is a brawl. What options do you have with players like that? His user is Sabot51, I forget which clan he is in.

The only thing you can do is to write a ticket to WG support, explaining the misbehaviour and attach the relevant replay(s). He may then get relegated to play coop only, where such a refusal to participate may actually make the other players happy.

Many of the 'good' commanders talents are linked to Random awards which are useless in CoOp. The two best do not do that. The other special commanders are about as useful. They need to add IJN DD commander Hara to the game with DD skills but WG has been hearing that for years.

Just save your coal, don't use the duplicates unless you have enough to finish it off. He won't cost 175,000 coal. I got him for around 80,000 in the end.

Kuznetsov always gets placed at the top of lists by you tubers. He's mediocre at best oooo you get a free heal when your one savo from death and already under intense fire or it wouldn't of kicked in in the first place. As flamu would point out its an easy skill to activate. That's just not good enough for me. Ill take the kraken rampage on Yamamoto any day with a 2 min free heal and 18 second reloads on 460s. Harder to get sure but actually impactful in the game.

@@Axel23410 I hear that the kraken I get on 1 in 25 games with him in Yamato so its rare. The Extra consumable from first blood is around 1 in 3 games from me so thats always nice. But it also comes in real handy in low tier Japanese cruiser and destroyer games where I can get a kraken almost at will 1 in ever 3-4 games. Its rather sweet to get all your health back on a ship that doesn't even have heals. And cooler still it last 2 mins so you can then do some ridiculous aggressive attacks knowing your health is going up despite getting shot up.

I was really excited when I read the title of this video, then I saw how you rated them. Sigh... Rating a commander based on the available number of ships is ...silly. Whether a commander has a few or a lot of ships is totally irrelevant to his skill set. What if a player really likes playing Pan Asian ships and skips the commander because you rate him 'mediocre'? If a commander has value "really good commander" then rate them based on their skill set alone. Otherwise a good review.

The amount of ships available for said commander is only one aspect I took into consideration. Hence why Yamamoto is where he is, there’s plenty of ships for him to command, but his talents are so difficult to pop.

There are the unique commanders, special commanders and seasoned commanders. Try to have one assigned to techline ships you like to play, but also use them on the premium ships or a few premium ships. Ships like the Austin might need just one commanders for it due to differences from other US cruisers.
