In 1986 I was a wilderness fire lookout in Montana, my best friend gave me World Party and I listened to it endlessly. I subsequently got all the cd’s that came out. I got to see World Party one summer in Calgary, loved it. Good bye Karl…see ya at the end of the trail.

So saddened to hear this news. A brilliant musician who channeled the likes of Ray Davies and Lennon & McCartney in his World Party work. A gentle, honest soul; never recall ever a bad word written or said about Karl. I was a big time, heavy listener to his Private Revolution and Goodbye Jumbo albums. A favorite: "God On My Side". Born just two days before Karl, in the same year, it drives home the short time we are given in this world. Karl made this world a better place with his brilliant contribution to music. Rest easy.

He was so talented. You can hear the beautiful melodies of Neil Young and he did an incredible Dylan cover. And also threw some psychedelic Prince in too. But always sounded like himself. What a loss.

Really one of my favorite musicians of all time, Karl. I can't get over how I'll probably never turn on the TV again, tune into a talk show, SNL, whatever, and hear music as brilliant and moving as this and others of its time and before. Aint nothing today gonna either save my life or break my heart. So fortunate we had this.

Thanks for posting this as it is a favorite song of mine. Karl gave us some great music in his lifetime and it is hard to believe that he has left us. I was lucky enough to see him perform twice with the last time being a cold early June night in Milwaukee. I was the only one waiting around to talk to talk to him after the show and I was lucky enough to spend 10 plus minutes chatting with him. Thanks for that special night Karl and all of the great music. He'll be sorely missed.

As a little boy, I once heard this song on TV and on the radio, maybe in 1993 or 1994, then for many years I hummed this verse and this chorus in my mind, but for 30 years I couldn't find the title of this song and enjoy it again . But a few months ago, thanks to Google Assistant, I managed to find the song of my childhood (another such song is Black Hole Sun). Unfortunately, my joy did not last long, because I learned that the wonderful Karol Wallinger had just died. Rest in peace, beautiful soul.💔😢

Late Night had a policy of using the band for all musical guests. They are pros but it had to be a bit nervy to play a song with newbies. I like how Karl was smiling during this at what was probably the band syncing up. They did use their drummer and only the one bass. Nice job everyone.
