I have this quad, but with the blue tooth controller! Is there a speed switch somewhere? Like a normal mode/ expert mode? I really don't like how my h507a operates. It does not respond well to my phone commands. Very finicky! And it also spins left a little everytime I use the sticks on the phone. And very slow to spin with my phone. What's going on. makes me wonder! That's why I NEVER been a fan of phone only remotes! Apparently this quad requires the phone to be used! And the included remote only works through the phone, not directly on the quad.

Nice review. I think you should try the Hubsan 502S. I have one of these and love it. It's a 502E, but with 5.8GHz FPV, a view monitor on the controller, Follow Me, higher rates, and the ability to turn off the GPS with a quick toggle switch to fly even faster! So fast, in fact, that it'll outfly its motors and begin descending at full tilt... (As noted, I actually like drones that can do this.)

Oh by the way Nate, I couldn't hear any construction equipment at all, your audio is good. But why doesn't your camera have auto iris or auto gain on the brightness? Abby is getting better all the time on the camera. Does your videos have a time/date stamp on them, sometimes I don't to get to watch when they are posted and I might have to watch on the weekends, and I loose track of the newest posted videos, and I don't want to miss any. Hey Nate or Abby. Please help. I have one of these the G507 A and I have the D version. My question is about the D version. The one with the LCD controller. I've lost bind between the quad and controller. It's never been crashed or wet. I've tried again and again but no luck. I do the calibration 1 and 2, the gps coordinates show, the video feed comes up, but the motors WILL NOT ARM. A NY hints. Batteries are full. I GOT IT!!!! I had it on almost or no GPS and was in the house. I went outside and waited until I had 10 and 6 satellites, 10 on the quad and pulled down and out on both sticks. SUCCESS!!! I still am not sure what happened? I often like to fly indoors as I have trouble walking and getting around some days. But it does arm now and I'm tickled to death. I really, really like this quad/drone I m $45 for a GPS drone with a LCD controller and app control too. Can't beat it.

I appreciate your very well done review, you guy's explained things where it's easy to understand. I purchased my first small drone a couple years ago, the Hubsan x4 I think, the little small one. And it just now bite the dust, and we crashed it a lot. My Grandsons and I both have crashed it into my house, several times, the fence, the shed,,my neighbor's house and his fence, and our deck and the road. I think thats most of the places, lol. Anyway, it was well built to be so little and inexpensive. So, now we're looking at another drone. Im not sure I like the idea of using my android phone with wi fi. I know it's an old video but still a great review. The reason I was checking the YT videos out for the H507A is that it has come down alot in price and the fact that it will apparently bind to you phone via the Hubsan amplifier ... and you can also use the bluetooth controller that comes with the Hubsan H216A that I know you guys already have. I might be worth digging it out and giving it a review :) Got my eye on an H507A currently being sold on eBay for £35GBP so many thanks for the great review. Tc :)

One thing I'm not crazy about Hubsan is having to cal the compass everytime I fly it or change the battery, and having to wait for satallite even on a battery change. Some times it takes up to 5 minutes to get 6. I'm hoping this one acquires the satellites quicker due to the controlling phone already having them .....

It's the safest way to fly, though definitely slows down the fun. I think some day we will see drones that.dont need to be spun around to calibrate and it will automatically do that for us :)

This is a good little gps starter and to me is better than it's 502 predecessor. I picked mine up for an make an offer deal at a price that I'm embarrassed to even post here. It also came with the Bluetooth controller. I also picked up the extended range HT011A controller for a song and it works well with this drone.

Hi Nate and Abby ,thanks for your help in reviewing Hubsan Star Pro ,but seems you got some troubles with the battery and circle fly feature ,firstly for the flight time ,I think the battery may fail to been fully charged ,I will arrange a new battery and charger to you later if you got time can test it again .then for the circle fly mode our default setting is the drone must be 3 or above away from the APP and also there should be nice GPS signal for drone and APP. also the should disengage the follow me mode when you try to enter into the circle mode .if you got time .I do appreciate your reply .Sorry for that not so happy testing with the drone .Thanks From Hubsan support team

This quad has been tested by all the popular YT reviewers and all of them report short flight times, seven or eight minutes at the most. So I would say this is a pattern and not the fault of the RC Saylors, who are among the must honest of reviewers. What is Hubsan's official flight time on this quad? And does the Wifi extender from the h501a work with the h507a?

7 or 8 minutes for a UAV of this size is not a bad flight time. it's hard to find a small one with a longer flight time. I bought several batteries for my X4 Desire because I put an all-in-one camera on it (didn't decrease the flight time much) but wanted to do some faster FPV when I took the Q500 out.

Hi Ron, Brown ,yes the flight time of this item is to be 8 minutes around ,I just want to check if he have got the same flight time ,or just for some other issues cause for the short flight time .as sometimes if the battery not been fully charge .and yes the IWIF extender for H501A work for the H507A as well .But Abby mentioned follow me not working .I just want to figure it out if anything wrong here .Thanks

I think it was reaching LVC before eight minutes. I think it dropped to the ground at eight minutes. The flight time dropped to 80% after just a minute of flying. Do you think using the range extender could help with battery life? I could never get 'Follow Me' to work on my h501a, someone from Hubsan contacted me on KZbin and said they would send a firmware update but I never received it.

@Ron Brown..... The range extender is just what it says, it extends the range of the controller/UAV not the flight time. The range extender is pointless if you can fly farther but not have enough battery for the return flight. I would fly to the limit of the transmitter as is then see what battery power you have left when it returns. Remember, flight time returning may take longer on the return trip if your flying out with a tailwind. *Dance the Skies*

Well because of this review and of portability and the fact both of you liked WiFi gps! I purchased this version, I also purchased extra batteries and a WiFi repeater extender. I also purchased the gps watch that works when you guys jog hint , and it works with h502e that I also purchased! I had to buy a solar power bank for the repeater! I’m gonna give it a shot ! Could you guys do a review of the watch and maybe both drones with extra batteries . I just don’t have the resources to do that kind of review but would love to see it in action!

Hudson 507d comes with lcd. Remote 60 on your eBay. Highly recommend if this is your first drone. First off to see if you like doing it. Second for learning how to fly cheaply.

Hi Nate and Abby. Happy day to ya. I got one of these too. Well, I purchased the 507A+ X4 Pro Star. Mine actually came with a controller. It doesn't have a monitor built in to the controller like it's little brother the H107D+. This thing has GPS. It takes 6 satallites to fly. The FPV is great. You can override the GPS lock if you get into the software. You can turn it off. It IS kinda hard to use all the features though. I haven't tried the waypoints mode yet. The Follow Me mode works through. Yeah, I don't like the pp. control though. I'm glad I was able to get one with the controller. I think the " + " in the title means it ha a controller. MINE ONLY COST$40 delivered from eBay. It's actually a lot cheaper than the H107A+ model. $40, right? $40. Oh, you can purchase a controller from Hubsan too. I think it's about $40 or so. I'm pretty sure none of Hubsan's other controllers will work either. But, hey THEY ARE CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. Or inexpensive I should say. . Because they are a Hubsan after all. No, it's NOT a DJI. But it is nearly as good. And in my opinion, the $40 makes it better.

I've got one of these, the ' D ' version and the 'A ' version too. It comes with a hand held controller with an inboard LCD monitor. It's much better I think.. I'm not really a fan of App control only. . I definitely prefer actual sticks instead of colored spots on my phone.

Hi Nate, I bought both H502 versions, and I thought I would try and help. The H502E and H502S are identical with two exceptions : The H502E has no FPV and the smaller radio. The H502S has FPV and a transmitter with a screen for the FPV. I have bound the S to the smaller transmitter and flew it using a separate screen. The H502S is more expensive primary of the transmitter with the 5.8 G receiver and screen.

john g Hi John, the quads are identical except for the 502 E doesn't have FPV transmitter and of course the transmitter has nothing but a tiny screen. The 502 S has the FPV 5.8 Ghz transmitter, and the controller has a FPV receiver with a screen. Other than that they are identical, as a matter of fact I went on line bought the camera for the S and put it in my E so now I have equivalent to two 502 S . So the choice is do ya want FPV or not.

Guys! I have an iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 11/iOS 10 and it will or has the option to record, here it is: Open the Settings app and tap Control Center. Select Customize Controls. Scroll down and find Screen Recording. Tap the green plus sign to add it to your Control Center. Now, return to Home screen and swipe up to open Control Center. Tap the Screen Recording icon, which looks like two concentric circles. It should work:) Thanks so much for your amazing work!

Mine actually came with a physical remote controller though I still need to run the X-Hubsan app on my cellular telephone to initialise the drone. (Edit, a moment later) The battery charger failed before the first battery had reached a full charge. I saw a pinprick of amberish-yellow light slowly come on and then fade; I noted the characteristic stink of burned electronics when I pulled it out of the USB port and smelled it. :-(

I have both the Hubsan 502 E and S they are good little drones I bought and installed the camera with the VTX that's in the E502S into the E502E so now I have 2 502 S they have 5.8 GHZ FPV. What I want to ask is, why do all the inexpensive drones have such short battery / flight times? Obviously it isn't because the batteries are expensive because they aren't. It's a shame that I'm going to have to pay over a thousand dollars to buy a do I Mavic pro with their issues, just to get a 20 minute flight time with brushless motors, GPS, FPV. If the Hubsan had a 20 or 30 minute flight time I would be happy with it. One more mod I'm going to try is using two batteries on it, and here in the center of NC it can take 4 to 5 minutes to get 6 satellites so I can fly up to 200 feet take some video and fly back down... some one needs to tell the manufacturers that we need and want more flight time, and you guys are just the people to tell them.

No surprise Hubsan has some of the best drones on the market. Especially when you look at price point and everything you get. I have flown the 501s and was totally impressed. I have an H107D and really enjoyed it. My brother and I were waiting for this 507 for the longest time. Hubsan website was out of stock or back order for months on this. I will have to let him know gearbest has it. Perhaps Hubsan can be referred to as the "poor man's dji ;)

I cannot see my phone screen in the sun so that wouldnt even work for me without some kind of hood. At that point,it may as well be a FPV with seperate remote. I dont care for most of the phone app type quads anyways. That one seems to do fine as far as that is concerned. I would buy it except the battery seems to be short life,I think most WFy app quads do that. They use a ton of power to work. Mabe if you could put a cell phone battery in it,lol.
