I have played 40k on and off, mostly because of the toxic phases that 40k has. 10th Ed has unfortunately lost a lot of the fluff and flavour, but I have to agree it's one of the most fun/balanced editions. Perhaps also the fact that there has been a shift in player mentality too.

in addition.. I think after everything the point of declaring intent (or not) is about communication with the intent that we want a fair and enjoyable game. Thank you for having these conversation. This has been something I've been trying to do every since I started in 2nd ed.

Its balanced, but very bland. I wouldnt say its an improvement over ninth. Loss of wargear and unit sizes also takes a lot of the nuance out of list building.

Its bad game design if a player has to help their opponent in order for the game to be civil and enjoyable. Its counter to a competitive game

Sensible comment mate. 40k is great fun but valid argument is that there is so much to keep track of it gets messy fast
