Wow. Still hard to believe they're gone. I remember when my late father took me up to the observation deck just outside from the Windows of the World restaurant on the 107th floor, 1977. The elevater pneumatic lift would get you up there in 75 seconds (at that time) and the view was tremendous. I knew you were still able to get to the 110th floor roof deck back then, but by then it was restricted access. I wish I could turn back the clock to September 10, 2001 - and change history where 9/11 never happened. I really enjoyed this bit of nostalgia. THANK YOU.
@bagenius59702 жыл бұрын
I hate to be the one to say this but even if you could go back to September 10, 2001, there's not much you could have done to prevent 9/11. Warn the FBI? For what, them to not believe you, tell you that our national security is tight knit ever since the attack in '93, lock you up under reasonable suspition that YOU are the threat to national security, or a combination of all of these? What else are you going to do, get on one of the planes and try to stop the attack? Great idea, except there are 3 other planes that were hijacked. 2 would go down, either by crashing or landing (United 93 and whichever other flight you picked) but what about the other two? Either both towers are getting hit, or oneof them and the Pentagon. Gonna try to round up the passengers from the other flights and tell them what's about to happen? Impossible in one day, and they'd probably think you were crazy. But all of this is IF traveling back in time and changing major events wouldn't have a ripple effect that would ultimately end in your demise, the WTC complex's demise, the same amount, if not more, innocent live's demise, or possibly the end of the universe, and space-time, as we know it. As tragic as that day was, it happened and even if you could go back to try to change it, it's not worth the unknown risks of doing so.

Then when they finally lift up the wall at the end of the little introduction and you see the view for the first time its crazy....not gonna lie my stomach dropped into my ass a little bit. Wither you are good with heights or not you don't understand how high you truly are until you get up there and then its a whole other story. I recommend going though to anyone who's not sure because its an unforgettable experience! They also have a room with a chart saying how many people that very second and day are visiting the tower from all around the world. I saw people from Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, Egypt, London, Italy, Greece, Dubai, Russia, Germany, Transylvania and so many more......and then there was me from ny lol but yea definitely go visit if you ever have a chance to do so!!

Beautiful animation, but the anxiety attack I would have on this thing is REAL. I'm scared of elevators, heights, and then add in seeing the Twin Towers disappear and just being in the World Trade Center... just nope. nope nope nope. I fear that one day I'll end up working for a company that has its offices on a top floor in the Freedom Tower (or basically any skyscraper), and I'm going to have to be like, "No, I'm fine. Who doesn't love some existential terror with their morning commute?"

I remember when I first took this up. It was a chilling mix of adrenaline, anticipation, intrigue, wonder, and discovery. The way the original towers just vanish after being erected is the most haunted shit ever. And when you're atop the building it's spooky as all hell to look at where the original buildings stood and imagine vibrant workers, shoppers, meetings, weddings, everything that used to take place.
