And that's if you let them get close to you. One guy of any group is not a liability if anyone in that group has even a lick of common sense. Yes, of course plenty of zombie movies have a little catch to try and raise the stakes because they themselves understand how improbable it is that something like this would literally end humanity, like "oh look they're fast now" or "we're all infected so when u die you just become zombie". It's not a believable premise on its face.

I’ve personally got a few things to say and if you don’t want spoilers, best not read any more lol First of all, those bullies are absolutely sadistic like what the heck they’re probably 11 years old and trying to kill a kid for basically no reason And Mrs. Henderson was just being an angry old hag who wanted something to beat up, none of the main zombie infection stuff within the town would’ve happened if not for that. Next is the fact that Mr. Theopolis managed to nearly cause an infection event by breaking Fido’s collar which scared me but I guess it worked The ending was pretty wholesome and I was definitely satisfied Good job guys, might go and actually watch this one lol

I see a bunch of people confused "why did the soldiers need to be told to aim for the head" well it because you aim center mass to kill anything. Center mass is where the heart and lungs are (deadly), its the largest area of the body (so a larger target), and it hardly moves even when a person is running. Compare that to the head which while it holds the brain it is a very small target, it moves constantly, and even if you do hit the head the skull is pretty damn strong and can deflect bullets it they are low caliber and are glancing shots. This is war kiddos not video games and in real life (and especially in war) it is extremely difficult to actually hit a target. In case you are wondering in WW2 it is estimated that it took about 45,000 rounds of ammunition in order to kill a single soldier. In Vietnam that number was higher at an estimated 50,000 rounds per kill (for the US). There is a reason why soldiers wear helmets despite the fact they cant stop bullets. It is because the real killers are explosions/artillery not small arms fire.

If you had no idea what a zombie was and thought it was like most "living" creatures you would just shoot it till it died which involves aiming center mass and shooting until it stops moving because eventually you will either kill it from it bleeding to death, destroy important organs (like heart or lungs) which are required to survival, or severing/damaging the spine so it is at least incapacitated. Even in hunting, where you want to cause immediate death to both guarantee a kill and because the quicker something dies the better it tastes (if an animal is under stress when it dies it spoils the meat), you are trained the aim for the heart and lungs as that offers the largest target area which will cause death as quick as possible. The other better option for an animal like a deer is the double-­shoulder shot where you shoot it through 1 shoulder and into the far shoulder blade because that will cause the entire body to flex and snaps the deer's spine (but it damages more meat then a heart/lung shot so while a good way to kill, it isn't a good way to hunt). Sure you can aim for the brain, but the brain is a very small target, in a constantly moving head, and encased in armor.

Added that zombies are also generally hunched over, leaning, and shambling or even falling because... they are dead corpses they don't have much balance. Also again you know what a zombie is. The military in the movie don't. You know the zombies only weak point is their head because someone (countless types of media) told you. Otherwise you are always trained to aim center mass in order to kill anything. From the military, to police departments, to hunting. It doesn't matter what it is you ALWAYS aim center mass. It is the largest and easier target to hit while also being capable of causing death in seconds.

Great movie. Ended up watching it after watching part of the video since its free on tubi. All around surprising and refreshing take on the genre and the 1950's atmosphere was kind of nice too. I especially liked the husband's emotional growth and character arc honestly, its basically spelled out that he's a bad father because of his hangups with his own father and what happened to him as a child and thats why he killed off his emotions and therefore the connection he'd might have had with his wife and child but in the end I'm really glad they just didn't turn him into a bad guy. I think the war hero kind of symbolized what the father could have been had he taken his mindset to a more extreme level.

@@josephstalin2606 I know that but you are suppose to aim for the heart/torso cuz its fatal and easier to hit but even then you don't need a scientist to tell you that aiming for the head will kill it. If you shoot a zombie at the heart and it doesn't die, your next shot is gonna be at the head. It isn't very revolutionary, its just kinda common sense
