Just because one woman does something great doesn’t mean that women are better at editing. I grew up being the biggest fan in the world. Now I hate it. Star Wars was a franchise that mostly boys watched in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Girls back then liked Rainbow Bright and my little pony. They are using Star Wars to attack men. The first woman to shape Star Wars (and I do mean Star Wars before it was named A New Hope) was Marcia Lou Lucas. She helped edit the original movie for months and the editing made Star Wars the blockbuster (literally made the term) it became. It mentions her in Empire of Dreams which is currently on Disney+ so they have no excuse for not acknowledging her. But they erase anyone to boost themselves up.

And while this does deserve credit, it's not really at the end of the day a central role in the creation of the media. Like I said, its like saying you have a hand in lego's success because you built a Darth Vader helmet. What she's talking about, is a director credit. Where yes, she will have a bigger hand in creating the product, but ultimately the story is going to be driven by whatever the screenwriter puts on paper, and the she isn't the screenwriter on this, the guy who wrote Peaky Blinders is. Her comments, were taken out of context, it wasn't pushed by Disney, it was an interview on CNN, and CNN presented it as "Looking ahead to 2024." and she just brought up the Star Wars project organically, as its something she was excited for. So the thought that this is a big push for agenda, is being drummed up by certain individual inside the fandom for Rage Clicks, find the Context for what they're saying, and they're arguments disappear.

What IS important is the finished product and IF someone is going to proclaim that they are the first woman to do whatever then they should also reference the woman that came before them that paved the way, no matter of how small you deem their contributions. For the record the Lego argument you used is not accurate. To buy a Lego set is to give the company money where as doing free work for the company is different then buying a product. If you do not see the difference then you see buying a movie ticket the same as working on editing or CGI work. If so then you do not have any respect for the hundreds of hours that people put into making a movie and I can not make you respect hard work. For the record I do respect the hard designers that spend countless hours creating Lego sets that people buy. It is a harder job then some people like you assume that it is. I can not believe someone could have so little respect for creativity and hard work. Also if you believe editing is as easy as making a Lego set then go become a movie editor and rake in the money, you will find out how hard it is. By the way Lego sets come with instructions while editing is 100% up to you trying to make it look good. Sometimes with little to no direction from the directors or writers. Try respecting people.

Hot Take. Return of The Jedi is mu favorite, because of the redemption of both Anakin and Luke. I was both baffled, and sympathetic for Daisy Ridley. I say again, literally nobody wants to see Rey be the one that restores the Jedi Order. That is something fans wanted to see Luke Skywalker do. It's what his character was built up to do by the end of Return of the Jedi, it's what he accomplished in the Expanded Universe, and what we were indeed going to get in the original story drafts for the Sequel Trilogy provided by George Lucas himself. But of course, it's current year, and people like Luke are no longer allowed to be the heroes anymore, nor even be allowed to be shown in a postivie light. Kathleen herself confirmed in a interview that all Luke serves now is a cautionary tale on what to avoid becoming.

Well AI is going to kill Hollywood anyway. With AI you aready now get it to generate a full documentary video by just giving it a small topic & it writes a story, music, spoken narrative & splice it together with stock video clips .. AND the the story & clips actually make sense. Animated is even further, i mean even today i can press a burron & have AI generate 1000 images of Peter Pan, Elsa, Pinoccio & Stitch. Sure there is a lot of odd stuff & the actual animation is really clunky, but sometimes AI gets it right & it only get better & better, faster & faster. Perhaps Disney has already realised this & that is why they are doing all the live stuff because i give the animated stuff less than a year & then parents can generate their own Forzen 3 movies to their kids. Live stuff is probably be 4 or 5 years tho, but the timer is ticking down.
