This woman is a complete hypocrite. She saying that men need to change their attitude and that they should look in the mirror and reflect on how we think, and yet she's refuses to change her attitude and how much she completely disrespects, not just the men, but the Star Wars community as a whole.
@OmnicidalClown199211 ай бұрын
@Shellyshell-bd8wl Firstly, I am aware of what's going on in South Asia. Secondly, just because terrible things are happening in South Asia doesn't mean that she has to oppress the men from outside of her country. Instead of admitting that she likes and enjoys making men uncomfortable, she should discuss the problems in her home country and create positivity feedback towards those outside of her country. Not all men aren't evil. They can be passionate and caring towards people. I mean, take a look at America's history, where people literally fight form freedom and the end of oppression. The Revolutionary War, Civil War and World War II just to name a few examples. These Wars had men fight for the freedom of their country, the end of slavery and stopping a mad man like Hitler from commiting mass genocide on an entire population. Yes, I will also admit that America isn't perfect, far from it. But we have made process from when we started out. After all, women didn't have rights until 1920, and African-American didn't have rights until 30-40 years after that. But regardless, we still ultimately changed our ways to give people the rights to live their lives. But this woman is clearly a person who is spreading her hatred towards the men in her country. And spreading her hatred in an upcoming Star Wars film, which I should also mention that she has no experience creating this type of movie, is a bad idea. For crying out loud, I can't recall a single moment where Sharmeen even said that she was a fan of Star Wars, or was been dreaming about the idea of wanting to be involved in Star Wars. Instead, all she does in spread a message on how much she loves and enjoys making men uncomfortable. And the whole hypocritical bit is still justifiable as spreading the hatred doesn't end the hatred. If anything, it just makes things worse.

The reason luke's journey in the original movies was interesting is because he had to struggle. He went off half cocked against vader with yoda telling him he wasn't ready and he got put in his place and nearly killed. That experience humbled him and he realized he had alot of training and learning to do and spent the time wisely so when he did finally confront vader again he was ready. The issue with Rey isn't that she is female. The issue is that she is basically force jesus with little to no effort what so ever. She fought Kylo Ren someone who had been trained basically since birth to be a jedi, who then fell to the dark side. She fought him and actually hurt him. This is so counter to what we know about the force that it was insulting to the audience. Kylo by all sense of the lore should of absolutely destroyed her not to mention Finn picking up the saber, kylo should of just flicked him out of the way im not sure what the point was of him even looking like he would put up a fight. If Rey had been humbled by Kylo and through some mcguffin escaped and then really took it upon herself to train. Then when she did eventually find luke (I won't even get started on what they did to my boy luke, it was so dramatically out of character for him to just go fuck off into the middle of blue milk island for years) but upon locating luke and spending time with him actually learning of her potential and being helped to be made ready by him and then confronting kylo again it would of made sense. But no shes basically force jesus, more powerful than anyone can imagine because "reasons" and "she is all of the jedi" and palpatine is "all of the sith" i honestly dunno wtf they were even going for it seemed like a deliberate misinterpretation of the source material. Palply should of been able to body her untrained ass with whatever the fuck he was able to channel. I dunno man. They just said fuck it to all of the original lore, came up with some new bullshit to mega charge Rey into being force jesus. Which by their own rules they now put forward there shouldn't be anything in the galaxy that is even remotely a threat to her. They made it seem like there is some sort of finite pool of force that is diluted when there are a bunch of force users but since there are so few around during Rey's time that she is able to just somehow "use more" of it at once. Its starwars I will give her movie a watch but if its just Rey brow beating every man around her because they are men and she is now force jesus Imma be upset. She said in that interview "its important to be able to look into the eyes of man and say I am here and to recognize that". I get that there are alot of shithead men out there but any man worth his salt will say that he sees you and wants to see what you can do. I see you now show me what you got. I will respect the hell out of ANYONE, man woman, dog, purple hair or no. Show me a well written story, show me your character arcs, show me that you like what it is you're writing about and have this cool new twist on things to shake things up while still being respectful of the work that others have put in before you. I don't give a fuck what your gender is, what you identify as who you are or where you came from. If your work is GOOD thats all I care about in life. If you've got talent prove it. Your work will speak for itself. You will never do anything to make me "uncomfortable" I know who I am, I know the struggles I've had in life and have seen others go through. Its not about making me uncomfortable, powerful women are great we need more of them. Your goal should be to put out quality work that shows that it doesn't matter who writes it. If the work is good thats all that matters. If your goal is to make people uncomfortable you're coming from a place of negativity and hatred which is the exact thing you're claiming to be against. Do a good job and nobody will give a fuck who you are, they will praise you simply because you did a good job.

I think it takes a great deal of arrogance to tell 50% of the world's population that they are wrong. Wrong about what exactly? Does she assume all women support whatever she is saying? I've got no issue about telling a story that challenges how people view things. Lots of great works of fiction have done exactly that, especially in the times they were written. What won people over though is the quality of those stories. The messages they had were presented in a way that was honest and human. They didn't try to change the world or filter it. They showed us what it was and what it meant through the eyes of the characters and author. Too many modern film makers and tv writers fail to do that. They keep trying to show a world they want while attempting to scold large swathes of the audience for not fitting with their vision. They see themselves as teachers instead of the humble observor. That's why they keep failing and they always will because the role of a storyteller isn't to change the world. It's to hold up a mirror and allow the reader or watcher to figure stuff out for themselves.

The pendulum isn't going to shift back unless we find a way to force it because none of this is happening organically it's all being forced. There's a lot of money from higher up places pushing this down the pipeline. It's not inherently a bad thing to cater to both boys and girls at the same time. Harry Potter and Powerpuff Girls proved that it can be done and not belittle one gender over the other. The problem is how they are doing it today. People like Kennedy and her Chinoy actually want to cater to girls more than the boys and they do this by belittling the men in their storylines and make it that the girls can do everything with no flaws, trials and tribulations. As a result, the stories end up being boring and no one (male and female) want to watch them. If Lucasfilm had people who wrote the stories in a way that showed both males and females going through real trials and tribulations, and didn't try to weaken one sex over the other and worked together, then both boys and girls could enjoy it. On a side note: It's sad that even after all that's been shown to prove how bad Disney Star Wars is, there are still people that think that what Disney's doing is better than the prequels and even the OT.

Because somehow, some way, ideology has become more valued then making money, which I never thought I would say, but it seems to be the truth. In any normal business, money is the motive. But somehow, someway, the Disney execs and the shareholders are more afraid of upsetting the leftists/feminists then to upset themselves for losing money. The people in Hollywood are living in their own, artificially made fairy tale were virtue signalling and fearmongering are more important then making money. I suspect they have to luxury to do this (as opposed to someone in e.g. Venezuela) due to the fact that money is plentiful. Poor people cannot afford to engage in this nonsense, as they're too busy surviving from day to day. Once the money runs out, there will be no place for these wokies (wookies) and all of this horseshit will disappear.

I do not go to the movies anymore because films with overpowered Karen girlbosses go on my nerves and I do not like how men are emasculated. And I know a lot of women who like a strong male characters on the screen whether villain or heroe. But now apart from exorbitant ticket prizes and women generally not so interested in Superheroes, space rangers etc.the movie industry does fail us women anyway. But even worse it does fail men completely. Why oh why should a guy go to see a movie where the showrunner tells them in her first interview she likes to make men uncomfortable. Who likes that and will pay money for being made uncomfortable? 50% of the population more or less are male. Can the movie industry afford to disgruntle 50% of potential clients from the get go and bore the rest aka women with movies whose target group where traditionally men.
