I loved the domestic flights I took in Nepal because they just throw you on an earlier flight if its available and there's no serious security, so its super quick.

hello mate, if you are just going outside of airport for staying in hotel near the airport, you can use Bus Service( Which is free of cost), the bus will drop you to outside of the airport where you can find hotels in walking distance.

If you want to go to the airport hotel which is right outside the exit gate from the domestic airport, you can take a free shuttle bus service that runs from domestic terminal to Airport gate so you wont have to pay a hefty price to the taxi drivers. The free shuttle service can be seen right when exit the domestic terminal which is a toyota hiace and it take you to the bus stop outside of the airport gate. Its much cheaper to get a taxi from there even if u want to go to a hotel in Thamel area. The taxi drivers add Rs. 500 extra for no reason just to get out of the airport.

Brother, Airport Hotel is basically 10 mins walk from the domestic terminal :D, that guy basically fooled you 🤪 and you ended up giving him twice the money. If every tourist paid the same price as Nepali then Nepal would be a lot poorer country and only wealthy Nepalis could afford to fly. Nepal is a poor country. The cheap flight for Nepalis is because the government wants to help the average Nepali worker have a better life so it subsidizes air flights for them. Be grateful you can get it so cheap as a Nepali citizen. Most tourists can easily afford this price. If you just rocked up at an airport in America to book a 20 minute flight you would pay at least $100.
