Beautiful song, an interesting fact about emppu is that his guitars are custom made for him, since he is very small! He knows it, he laughs about it, and we all love him for it... he is the hobbit of nightwish!

As far as I know, this is not true. Although he plays on the signature custom ESP EV-1, his guitar is based on ESP's standard Horizon series and doesn't have any size changes.

@@SokolRock Correct, he used a standard Washburn CS-780 in the early years and his custom ESPs and the custom Ruokangas Hellcat he uses for recording nowadays are all standard sizes.

This is early stuff from NW (2002), very good early stuff. I always encourage people to put the songs on a timeline. It is eerie how much of a walk-through you get through the life of Tuomas. In this song he was yet to find the love of his life, but he knew she already was out there. He just needed to find her. Even though he did not know her yet, he had already fallen in love with concept of her existence.

We all miss Marko. He is a treasure. Emppu is quite stature challenged. I think about 5'4". Many fans lovingly refer to him as the Hobbit. This was a big single for Nightwish. Second single from the new record out on August 8th. Full record drops on September 20th.

Nice spotting the setlist. Feel the power of Mark near the end Floor picks it up and matches Marko in power. Emppu is rather short like a dwarf compared to 6.1 Floor 1.8 Metres plus heals. 1.6 metres tall while Warwich Davies is 1.06 Metres places Emppu over half a metre taller. Girls think he's cute but they lucked out as he's married.

Ever Dream is one of the songs that all 3 lead singers have sung. First single from the 2002 4th album, Century Child, the first record with Marko. The song didn't start softer on the studio recording, that was a change they made when they took it live. To hear Tarja sing this, check out the version at Helsinki 2005 (End of an Era). IMO, it doesn't matter as much which lady is singing, Marko's small vocal parts are what make the song.. Yep, song #5 in the set, right after "Ghost River' , and just before "Storytime". Well, Emppu is only 5'3" or 160 cm, so Willow might not be too far off. 🤣🤣 New album drops Sep 20. Though something is coming Aug 7, probably the 2nd single.

2:30 It shouldn't bother you that the crowd at Nightwish concerts claps off tempo: Every member of the band plays with a click-track in their in-ear monitors, even including Floor. By the way, this is one of the "secrets" of why they always sound so tight together.

@@helli0n824 "Pee songs" is a humorous term not meant to refer to rest breaks for the musicians but for the audience members to make their way back to the "bathroom" or "loo" or whatever the local culture calls it, thereby missing that song.

Wait, now i see..you ment 'bad' because both are the same size, right...still i think it isn't bad at all...i think we should allready have gone back to the times when 'woke' wasn't a thing. Cool Reaction! 🤘😎🤘 This is such a great song. Originally sung by Tarja and immortalized by Floor. This live performance of Ever Dream is so damn epic. Unfortunately, Nightwish no longer performs Ever Dream, like this. Floor said she could no longer sing Ever Dream as it was written because it was Written for Tarja's high range. So, Tuomas lowered the range and actually slowed the song down a bit.

For me the perfection of NIghtwish's vocals is forever lacking without Marko....I miss him!! Yes, I have heard it said that the band lovingly refers to Emppu as resident hobbit....especially as I understand that at least 3 of the others are 6' or better! Still looking forward to the day you get around to Opeth...my choice would be for Ghost of Perdition, Live at Red Rocks as a first listen, and then move on to some of their 'progier' stuff. Should have some familiarity as they have worked a lot with Steven Wilson!🤘

If I remember correctly the intro of Ever Dream is rubato without a clicktrack, just Tuomas and Floor, so the clapping seems even more out of time.

Nightwish - Lanternlight (Official Music Video) posted 9/20. Over 52,000 views in 4 hours. Goddess Floor at her finest, singing a genius tune from Tuomas, with backing vocals from Troy. In an interview, Floor said that Tuomas challenged her with some low notes on the new album. No ballad yet. Started with one of the 4 great NW openers, Dark Chest of Wonders, then Wish I Had an Angel, She is my Sin and Ghost River. All excellent. In fact, there isn't a ballad in this show.
