I've seen midi tracks get out of sync, but that's pretty easy to fix. It usually happens as a result of copying and pasting sections with either too much or not enough of the sequence selected - creating an unintentional polymeter because the measure is either cut off or extended with an extra beat or so of silence.

I consider myself to be very knowledgeable about the history of death metal and extreme music in general. I’ve listened to a lot of underground demos and long forgotten banda (thanks Ken’s DM Crypt) There is so little information about this “band” and it’s infamy. They really scrubbed a lot of their work from the internet. The only video of the album I could find has comments locked. I need more information about this band, the songs and lyrics, the recording. Is this all a huge troll? Or was this a serious attempt at releasing thoughtful music into the world? A true mystery of extreme music whos story needs to be delved deeper into. So, I looked this dude up on the Metal Archives. Turns out, he has had a few projects, one of them entitled "Devastation Inc." (so badass) Anyways, if you look up Devastation Inc's only full-length "Withdrawn into the Abyss Within" you'll get an absolutely bonkers, public access tv style music video that's quite a treat to watch. The music is about on par with Arise Warrior. Enjoy!

I had to hear it, and oh my lord, I've never heard anything like it. I had no idea what the hell was going on and those distortion...drops? Whatever, was killing my ears. I've listen to some bad stuff, but this...this was...crazy. Sounded like an 8 bit midi file that was programmed by a beginner that was recorded through a single blown speaker while it was falling down the stairs. With that being said, I did have glimpses of what it's "supposed" to or "should have" sounded like if it was played by a band with talent. It would be interesting to hear someone cover one of the songs and try to make it sound listenable. Just curious to see if it would actually sound half decent, or still sound like...whatever the hell that is. I've heard of The Shaggs and their story, so I thought it was funny you brought them up. I think Tougher Than Nails is worse.

SFU at least at the beginning, was definitely a band in the vein of Obituary. The ex-lead guitarist of Obituary, Alan West co-founded the band with Barnes. And ex-Death/ex-Massacre bassist Terry Butler was another founding member of the band, stuck around up until 2010 or so. He plays in Obituary now. I thought the vocals on the latest SFU album were just Barnes high as fuck trolling at first. Sadly, that is not the case. You'd think he'd put more effort into his vocals with Jack Owen now in the band. His vocals ruin the album. Hopefully the next one is better...it really can't get worse...can it?

At some point on the album their is a song that emits pure meme gold (between the 22 to 29 minute mark) which involves the music not taking a shit long enough to devote a few seconds of isolated tom hat, It's hit three times before the music takes a shit once more. This is done Multiple times throughout the song as if it were a key feature... I wish I knew the song title but I don't feel like devoting that much energy to this terrible album. I'd rather pay a mime to kick me in the balls to the run time of this album than deal with that.

I'm not sure this is as 'bad' as you think it is. I have had a quick skip through it and, if intentional, it is just a 'metal' version of the glitch genre. I wouldn't be surprised if the glitched up guitar parts were sampled from something else. It's not my cup of tea, but the way it has been arranged with said glitches might actually be quite clever. I've worked in electronic music for years and there seems, on the surface, to have been some work that has gone into this. I may well be wrong though!

Plus they're signed to a label that everything else is death metal. the vocals no matter what anyone says are incredibly off note . what youre saying about Tougher Than Nails in your comment is oddly similar to what Frank Zappa thought of positively when he found interest with The Shaggs. Call me crazy. but I can kind of see this stuff working if they just fixed a few things. The instruments sound like they were recorded at different times individually, almost like this band sampled a bunch of other death metal songs and pieced them together into an incoherent mess. But if you throw a monkey wrench into it and try to piece those parts together in a way that sounds cohesive and reel back on the clipping, (and a change in drums) you would get something like Industrial Death Metal. That and they gotta change up the vocals because god damn, they sound overblown.

The shaggs album is better than all the corporate slop played by commercial radio. Shaggs better then any top ten goyslop band
