Because the black experience is just the white experience. It’s not different. Find two rich families, black and white and they live the same experience. Find two poor families black and white and they live the same. Trust me kiddo, been to 37 countries and lived all over the world. Arabs, Brazilians, Irish, Russians, Ethiopians, Indians Nigerians etc all live the exact same lives. Humans are human. They all just wanna eat dinner/smoke/drink together and roast each other.

Ellis’ dream of sending his kids to school trips is exactly the reason why my oldest is going on a 13 day trip to Italy, France, and Spain this summer with others from his school. I’ll be 39 next month and haven’t had the opportunity to travel outside of the US. Financially it’s never been an option. Being able to let him go on a trip I’ve dreamed about for decades is why my husband and I work so damn hard. One day I’ll travel the world but right now I’m beyond excited for him to have this opportunity!

That's so sweet of you. You're good parents. Bless you both. I was never allowed to go on school trips abroad. I got told it was for 'safety reasons' whereas my brothers got to go. Which was unfair to us girls. We missed out big time. If anything, a school trip abroad is THE most safe thing because of all the safeguarding procedures they have in place! Hope your lad has an amazing trip! Hasta luego baby!

10:09 some ppl are just built different. I remember my friends dad (daily heavy liquor drinker) hiking with us, stayed ahead, chain smoking carrying the heaviest ruck, laughing at the peak while we’re crawling like over-encumbered mules. “Come on, sissy boys, it ain’t that hard.” (I am a cis-woman BTW😂)

Ok so hear me out.. I’m now a 37 year old mum of 3 and when I was young i always had sleep overs and had them at my house. I also allow my kids to have sleep overs at my house and with kids I know personally. However a few years back I found out that a close childhood friends dad was arrested for child p**n… I slept in that mans house more times than I care to remember and although he never did anything to me (THANK GOD) I’m now very wary of where I let my kids go. I thought that man was lovely very kind and always interested in what we were doing he was a pretty “cool dad” now I just feel sick. I read in the paper he had years and years worth. He lived across the road from me. So yeah I’m now scared to death of allowing my kids to stay out x

Was about to say, as someone who used to work in criminal law, I would not allow my children to sleepover at someone else's home, let alone a stranger. They can come to mine, and if their parents are offended by that, oh well.

even though he never did anything to you....that's why its paranoia and even though it's unfortunate that you have this awful anecdotatal past story it's not even an experience. kids aren't living bc parents have fear of things that don't statistically happen at the rates we are fearing them. this bunch is going to grow up and call this some kinda something and its goign to be a big therapy something...

6:08 Growing in Haiti, my parents were always assuming the worst scenario of a sleepover. One day, I pushed my luck and they ask me if I didn’t like my bed anymore with a haughty smile. I never talked about that since that day.

I never had a sleepover as well. My parents were like “why would you want to go and sleep on someone’s floor when you have a perfectly good bed at home”. But honestly now that I have a daughter I understand the fear of leaving your child in someone else’s care and home.

Ellis talking about NCS was mental. It was a lot of fun but that was mostly the first week where you went camping for a week. Then you’d go to a random Uni to plan a charity activity which in parts was fun, but there wasn’t many things to do in your free time. They did movie nights and stuff like that though. The third week was doing the planned charity events from week two. My group did a pub quiz and raised almost £300 and then we went to Aldi and bought a load of food/toiletries and other necessities and donated it all to the local food bank. Was really fun to do. Met a lot of new people for sure and solidified friendships I already had. Would definitely recommend people do it cause it broke up the monotony of not having anything to do after finishing exams for the summer. Also some of my friends did end up with girlfriends/boyfriends, but due to a lack of fellow gays that I found attractive, I didn’t end up with anyone.

But I was so jealous because literally everyone else went and had to watch the video of them preforming and having fun to grade their performance
