Used to love Beast Wars as a kid. Tried to download a demo via dial up only to find out it ran abysmally slow because my computer was too old. Later in life, I learned that was a blessing in disguise.

Want to hear something really confusing? The TV show was titled Beast Wars: Transformers (or “Beasties: Transformers” for you Canadian folks), but the franchise itself is officially called Transformers: Beast Wars. And as if that wasn’t enough after the third season the show did a time-jump and rebranded to Beast Machines: Transformers, but the franchise kept its Transformers: Beast Wars name.

It gets even more confusing! I grew up in Canada and I never saw it on tv, only VHS tapes but I don't know anything about "Beasties". The episodes on tape were "Transformers: Beast Wars" followed by "Beast Machines", and there was some debate that Beast Machines were knockoff/bootleg episodes since they didn't have the Transformers branding.

Now you guys should try this show's "sister show" game, Reboot. Imagine a really bad Tony Hawk skate game where the whole world is icy. (Because their high tech skate boards float.) Pure nightmare fuel for controls and makes for a really bad game.

Love Beast Wars so much. Game is kinda bad 😂 I’m actually writing a kinda script for the episode that never was released of Rattrap putting Dinobots memories back in him in his Transmetal 2 body. Hope I could find someone to animate it. One of the best shows in my opinion

I would love to see a NEW Beast Wars game. At this point, with the power modern systems have, the game could use assets from the show without quality loss. Imagine playing a GOOD Beast Wars game today that looks EXACTLY like the show. That would be crazy.

Or "Beasties" if you wanna get Canadian about it. But i actually prefer how Peter said it: Beast Wars Colon Transformers I actually was too old for Beast Wars. I had the vanillaware transformers, and i also played with Battle Beats. Battle Beasts had holograms in their chests, which became visible when you heated them up with a finger\thumb. They each had an element: earth, fire, or water, and you'd do action figure shit with them. I forget how to play with them because you lise your imagination when you get elderly (42) So now i shuffle around the halls in my walker and forget to wear pants, shake ny cane at children, yell at clouds. I fibally pooped my pants last year. It's pretty awesome. What were we talking about? Where is my home? What is Trip-Hop? Kids these days, amirite?

Loved the series as a kid along with Reboot. I recall them airing it as Beast Wars then changing to Beasties. My logical conclusion as a 6-7 year old was Canada didn't want to promote war in the name of a kids show. I really liked ratrap and the cheetah character I thought he was the coolest. Need to check out an episode to see how it's aged. Early CGI is so rough I love it.

The name Beasties was only specific to the YTV channel. That was a cable channel. For those of us without cable, any channel it was on was probably a US one that we would get the broadcast signal for via antenna, so a lot of us in Canada still called it Beast Wars because that is how we saw it :)

In lore they explain that Beast Megatron took the name from his hero, the Decepticon founder of legend, as an homage. Beast Megatron sees his Rebel Predacon faction as a second coming of Megatron's Decepticons.
