I think the worst customer I ever had from working at Gamestop for 11 years was the guy that was so mad over something that he went in the corner and took a huge dump. Then his wife ran in and scooped it up with her bare hands and ran out screaming "I'm sorry." The guy eventually came back and said he'd "shoot" me when I got off work that day.

I once worked for a company that, when a customer threatened to sue, would make us stop serving/talking to them entirely. I was nice to her and thanked her for her business and gave her a well-meaning, "drive safe," as I went back inside. After she's left for about 30 min, we get a call on the phones. She called back to tell my manager that her order was messed up, and proceeded to describe ME to my manager to spite me, I guess. I don't know if she has any clue bout how a restaurant works, but I just delivered the food to her car. I didn't cook, arrange, and deliver the food to her car.

Manager at Lowes here, and I truly appreciate people like you who support us retail workers. The amount of unreasonable and just nasty people is crazy. Being a manager I usually have to end up dealing with them and one thing I’ve learned is that you NEED to defense your associates and stand up for yourself. Anytime I bite back the customer backs down, but if I let them treat me or my employees with disrespect then it will continue to happen. Where I really draw the line is when a customer calls my associates names. The second name calling gets involved whether it’s a $10 sale or $10,000 sale they will no longer be welcome in the establishment

Hey Charlie, I run a GameStop and yeah a lot of the reason for the bundles are to prevent scalpers, we had a big problem with that in the past and even if we tried to limit it to one per person people would go to different stores to get multiple and stuff. But also, GameStop only makes like $25 on a PS5, the margins are pitiful so for us to really make any money on them they are bundled, we make more selling a single controller than we do on a PS5 rip
@Crystalluss
@Crystalluss Жыл бұрын
I don't even get why people would be mad about the bundle. Most of the time, if you're buying a console, you don't have games for that console yet. Gamestop employee here. He absolutely did not get pressured into buying that bundle. We let our customers know that we have some in stock, that they're only available in a bundle, we let them know what comes in the bundle and how much it is, then they walk away. Not to even mention the process for buying these bundles takes at least 10 minutes. You cant just oopsie dasies into buying one. Like its a whole process where you have to scan ID labels, ask for like 4 different warranties on everything that comes in the bundle, bring the console out front, hell you even have to ASK THEM WHAT GAMES THEY WANT because theres always a selection. Also he asks "is that in writing though!!!" Like yes. It literally is. Its actually directly under all the shit he flopped on the counter with big letters that says "PS5 BUNDLE" and lists what you get with it.

I worked for an isp and they had a policy regarding customers mentioning, even vaguely, legal action threats. We immediately tell them we will put them through to a member of our legal team, and transfer them over where someone is already ready to take the call. I've heard the legal team talk to the customer, it's definitely not "please don't sue us we will make this right" and it's more like "I dare you to sue us, we will drown you in legal papers, proceedings and lawyer fees". They didn't use those words obviously but what they did say and how they said it was definitely a challenge they were itching for the customer to accept.

Man, reminds me of when I was serving as a cashier and a customer got upset because she got no sale’s because she wasn’t a member. Then she went ahead and ripped some price tags off our shelves to bring to me in order to force my hand into putting the sales on. Then, the moment I tried to talk some sense into her about, you know, how ripping price tags off our shelves is actually a bad thing and awfully immature. She went ahead and got the number for a corporate representative and harassed him in order to get me fired for being “rude”. To this day, I regret not throwing her out of the store the instant those price tags were torn. The more time I work in retail, the more I believe that enforced customer etiquette is necessary. The whole corporate policy of “let the customer get away with absolutely everything because we don’t want a safety or theft related lawsuit” empowers the insane. It gives power to those who are most undeserving, and those actually deserving of respect and hospitality as a customer return all the niceties that they’re offered. In this vain, I miss when stores actually banned customers who didn’t show respect to others.

@@Shizlgizl there are some good articles on it but to summarise. Your average scalper or bot can flip a ps5 pretty easy for huge profits. It's harder to shift is second hand games controllers and accessories. So instead of a scalper buying buying a 500 item selling it for 1000 he now has to pay 750 for a console. Then his more than likely stuck with the game. He could of course accept lower profits, or charge more but consumers are less likely to pay more for second hand stuff or for a premium product they don't need. A personal example is ufc in London. Tickets for cheap seats sell out in 2 minutes. Then get reposted on scalper sites with 500% mark up. What doesn't get scalped is the premium £1000 tickets, these are too heavily a cashflow layout with no guarantee of a return. Hus third option is what we most likely see above. Try n return all the useless stuff and not the console. Its generally thought that bundles do reduce scalpers but also hurt the consumer. Anyway hope that helps

So I helped out bagging their food however this woman wanted extra sauce. Now at my specific Mcdonalds (idk about others) there was a 25 cent charge for additional sauce. But the woman purposely asked after having already ordered and paid to avoid the minimal charge. So she basically just wanted a bunch of free sauce, and my coworker rung her up at her register instead, told her that would be 25 cents, and the woman tripped shit. All three of us, my coworker, myself, and my manager had to watch as this woman not only threw her strawberry milkshake on us, but then also threw her food back on us in a fit of rage. On top of this I've experienced plenty of other things like verbal harassment, literal threats, and sexual harassment in my time working at Mcdonalds.
