Pour shame down on whoever let that poor draft horse suffer for years without treatment, and then put him in auction. Whether it was one person, or a series of people....the suffering they caused should be visited upon them.

EXACTLY. I am flat broke, looking for a job. I do not use my credit card any longer. But this horse is the reason why I sent five dollars eventhough it was clear that his case was hopeless. I noticed him on KZbin during the live and suggested to call him Godzilla since he was a draft. Finally, he was called Poseidon which is superb. I can not understand how people can leave an animal without proper healthcare. When my sister bought her stallion, my mother and I helped her. He was our baby. My mother used to propose him a kiss above the eye and he would bend his head repeatedly for it. My sister would tell him "Come" and he would follow her like a dog without rope or anything. One afternoon, I installed my baby twins on a blanket on the grass near the river on the property were my sister placed him. I sat once my son Benoît on his back when he became a toddler. Urgos was great and produced a colt named Legend who was very vivid and smart. I hope I will find a job as an admin in a horse club and ride sometimes simple trails. 🙏🏻🤠🐴🇨🇭🇫🇷🌺

@@jennifergudmundson2277 Had a similar incident while trying to get my sister up on a horse for the first time. She forgot to hold the saddle horn when she swung her leg over and went straight off onto the ground. This of course spooked the horse and he reared. Fearing he would come down on top of her I instantly reacted by grabbing both sides of the halter to use my weight to pull him down. It worked and he came down right on my big toe too. I couldn't blame the horse, her or myself, it was just an honest misfortune how it played out. We did finally get her back up and into the saddle. Was so hysterical through as the horse kept his eye on her and if she'd twitch, he'd stop dead looking back in panic thinking oh no, this stupid human is about to kiss the ground again and I'm not guilty! I'm a vet tech myself (working in a small animal practice, mostly cats and dogs, in Germany) and the way she gives directions to those around helping her is amazing. Very practical and straight to the point. I would love working with a vet like her. The poor draft with the missing coffin bone must've been through years of excrutiating pain. No horse should have to suffer so much for such a long time. Even if it was a working horse, with that kind of injury, there's no way he was able to work in the last months or even years. It's beyond me how anyone can just have that super lame horse standing around and do nothing about it. The level of indifference towards this poor soul is mindblowing.

It's also a completely pointless act of cruelty. I don't think there is another competition that is less about the quality of the horse than big lick. With all of it man made there's nothing to pass on from the winer's to their offspring except tolerance for abuse. I could get a cow to hit the big lick with the amount of mechanical "assistance" they apply to the horse.

What is big lick?
@feathersong4134 Жыл бұрын
@@KARWAD200The big lick is a "style" of walking that people make the Tennessee walking horses do for show. They make the horses walk in a very high large stride by putting oversized boots on the front feet, often nailing them straight through the bottom of the horses hoof. They then "sore" the front legs by soaking cloths in acid and wrapping them around the ankles of the horse and leaving it to burn the skin. They spray paint the horses legs to hide the evidence and place chains on the horses ankles that hit their sore skin when they walk forcing them to high step creating what's known as "The big lick" It's one of the most ridiculous looking clownish show walks I've ever seen and do not understand why people enjoy it.

Not because the foot was gross - I've put my hand inside huge, terrible wounds to clean them out, I've given shots, cleaned abcesses. I've assisted vets with emergency wound care when I was the only stablehand available and they needed help. I have a STRONG stomach. I've seen terrible things. But I'm sickened because of the YEARS of horrendous suffering that horse endured. It tears my heart out! I want to find the DEPRAVED MONSTERS who allowed his pain to go on for so long. I want them punished. I want them to hurt. I want them to pay for it with finacial loss and the loss of their freedom. I want them in jail for as many years as it took for that poor animal's hoof to completely disintegrate that way. And then I want them behind bars for many years more. I'm not a violent person, but I want those monsters to pay. We need to have laws that bring REAL consequences for abusers and people who turn a blind eye to suffering like that. They need to pay for it. I feel so sick.

@@mariahb3107 you kno, this surprises me so much. These people are a RELIGIOUS community, & I'd think that they'd treat their animals w/respect, since they depend on them for everything. But, I guess not. How sad.

@@gaylaroof612 I have an aunt who’s a deep born again Christian. I wouldn’t trust her with a flea, and she had nine dogs at once. All in runs, never walked nor socialized. She had a Pug that died of kidney failure because she never let him out. Absolutely sickening.

I just found your channel and I am so glad I did. I have raised horses since I was 6 and now 50 some years later and just finishing my Vet Tech course. Your channel is excellent on what can happen and is a great education. Thank you and keep posting.

Thank you for caring for these animals. It was too late for some, but they’re out of pain now. My heart is overwhelmed.
