During Steven Spielberg's "Jaws" there was a dialogue sequence that took place on a Ferry from one end of the river to the other; does anyone remember why that scene was so engaging and interesting? It was specifically because of the directorial decision to have a boring dialogue sequence take place on a moving boat. The entire conversation was one giant long take that began at the beginning of the ferry, all the way to the other side of the river; because of this the background, and therefore the visuals, were constantly changing and keeping the scene feeling visually fresh and engaging. Because this was happening during an exposition sequence, the dialogue scene came off as fresh and engaging as well. This seems to be the problem with "Let's Be Evil": it's visually stagnate and uninteresting, but not just the visuals; but the story, characters, themes, message, and plot - as well.

First Terminator movie did this as well. Kyle Reese explains all the sci-fi stuff about the future wars with the machines to Sarah Connor while being shot at by a Terminator in a car chase. The urgency of the danger in the scene lends urgency to the danger being warned about in the exposition, and stops it feeling out of place or dumped on the viewer.

I have never suffered more than when I watched that movie. It took me over a year to even finish watching. I doubt there is a movie more agonising to experience than Future World. It grated my very soul. It's been years since I saw it and I still feel tainted. I will never be whole again.

Okay so I just watched this movie and have some thoughts: As soon as I finished this movie I hopped on a group chat to tell my friends it was exactly as bad as Charlie made it out to be; poor dialogue, poor acting, but nice colors and music. Then I thought for just one more second and I think I stumbled upon either a hidden gem or just a complete coincidence (keep in mind I haven't looked anything up like interviews with the director/writers that would confirm lore or bring anything new to light). At the end of the movie it is revealed that the MC, Jenny, is in this sort of time loop, placed there by Cassandra, one of "the Candidates," who I believe to be the only REAL candidate. Throughout the movie the dialogue was simply just over-dramatized, nothing actual real life humans would say to each other, I wrote this off as just bad writing until recently. I believe the only "real" characters in this film are Cassandra and Jenny because the other "candidates" and the two other babysitters with Jenny are seen disappearing and appearing at will (yes this is a sci-fi movie but there seemed to be no available technology to do this). That point goes along with my other gripe with this movie, just because the "candidates" are smart, it doesn't give them superhuman ability i.e., teleportation and/or invisibility, they are still just children, but if they weren't real (and this is implied at the end when it shows the children appear and disappear, seemingly at the will of Cassandra, to try and show Jenny that she had been being deceived from the very beginning before sticking her back right at the beginning of the time loop) it would explain their superhuman capabilities. Going back to the poor dialogue, going with my theory that Cassandra is the only candidate and created this time loop for Jenny, it would mean that Cassandra created all these weird interactions which would make sense for her character since she grew up underground with no social interaction, the only social interaction she knows is from reading about it which is often over-dramatized and not how any sane human beings would converse. Anyway, I have ADHD and got sidetracked about 18 times while writing this and I'm not gonna read it back to make sure it makes sense and its also 2:30 in the morning B) edit: or maybe its just a shit movie with shit writing

You and I would have a lot to rant back and forth about, hella ADHD myself and reading that was the closest experience I've had created by a human on the internet to emulating my own writing style. I typically edit this shit as I go along, sometimes rereading it and editing accordingly, but yeah...a lot of us tend to do this, don't they? Notice how this is a tangent that I'm well aware off while on it and so I can fucking steer this thought process like a fucking rudder, fuckin a that's a lot of fucking, and I'm gonna leave it at that before I come up with more bullshit to rant about, and I'm gonna smoke some weed and try to conk out, like this shit's like a fucking wheel, mind is always in motion, I have to almost keep spitting out information like an assembly line or I'll lose my point and it's frustrating when there's that one thing you wanted someone else in the world to hear so you aren't the only one thinking of it, even if there probably isn't very much room for new original ideas that aren't just based on existing ones, and it takes a lot of willpower to pry myself away from a text bar before it reaches the maximum number of characters, like you see here and I'm forced to paraphrase everything I just spent 10s of minutes typing almost synonymous reiterations of the same point, which is this whole rant essentially...yeah, why am I explaining myself, you know this first hand. The characters are great, the story is great, the manga’s art is great and even though the anime is a pretty bad adaptation of the manga with poor pacing, censorship and changing small scenes it has one of the best soundtrack in anime done by Shiro Sagisu. @@ayame8095 as a bleach fan I recommend the anime but understand the plot holes aren't present in the Manga, you can also skip the filler as it holds no hearing on anything, and the movies are just confusing as to placement. @ayame80952 жыл бұрын
@@ralcogaming7674 ...ya know, I can get just being the type of person who just prefers watching anime over manga but on that, the Bleach manga doesn’t have any slow parts. All the super painfully slow parts of the anime like the entire beginning of the Hueco Mundo invasion aren’t even slow at all in the manga. When it comes to the pacing the manga is way faster than the anime at every point in the series so I don’t get why “well it would be easier to enjoy the anime during slow parts than the manga during slow parts” if I’m going to be honest so I still say the manga has it in the bag there.

Dragonball Evolution. You have over hundreds, or in combined nearly thousands, of the Dragon Ball series, and yet that abomination looked like the filmmakers haven't even watched one episode of the series. Much like the bozos for Star Trek Picard that admitted not seeing the Next Generation series at all, but we'll talk about that modern age garbage another time. Probably grabbed some bios and say "oh cool now we know the series". The movie was filmed in Mexico, and mostly at the abandon Jeans warehouse. So I guess most budget went on the warehouse, Chow Yun Fat, private jet plane for themselves, prostitutes, drugs, paying ransom for hostage, more drugs, and cheap chinese food for the crew. It's as if the filmmakers studied at the same school where the dude for Manos: The Hands of Fate studied from, and getting inspirations from Ed Wood and Adolf Hitler. It's just bad. Street Fighter '94 was bad, but it was a fun film. Dragonball Evolution is not fun, and it's... there need to be a new word to describe how beyond garbage it was.

The director of let’s be evil is crying that the main deuteragonist from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 shitted on their movie Edit: I just realised Let’s be Evil wasn’t directed, it was randomly generated by an A.I program

I can’t remember every movie I’ve ever watched but off the top of my head the movie I’ve hated so much recently for its complete lack of anything resembling quality has to be Mile 22. Just a waste of a great cast and an hour and a half of my life I am never getting back. The first act sets up every character to be so unique and specialized with their intros and attributes from their background and then immediately turns them into bullet sponges with zero callbacks to the fact that they’re elite. And the plot sucked too on top of that

Well Charlie should have a "Dry meter" for such movies.....
@spartan28673 жыл бұрын
Moist meter also works for that cause it measures moist, so if it has little moist then it is dry. Our scientists haven’t been able a way to measure dryness though, so everyone just uses a low score on the moist meter to signify dryness
