Happy new year. I nearly died this year. I said goodbye to my kids as they rolled me into a surgery they thought d never wake up from. Definitely the defining moment. But I woke up and kicked butt. Spent 7 weeks recovering. Have a very hard life now but I’m with my kids and grateful to be alive and with them. Glad to see the end of 2018.

On January 17th it'll be a year since my baby girl who's 24 had her stem cell transplant and on the 14th December 2018 it was a year where she's been in remission for a whole year. We've been on a awful rollacoaster, but we're so dang proud of her, she kicked cancer's bum. Hope you all have a wonderful new year, God bless you all x

@@hannab129 My degree took 3 and a half years. In Australia, you finish High School at the age of 17 (at least in my state, but now the rules have changed and it is 18 years old). And for me, i finished my classes at 20, but graduated at 21 as my birthday was just before Graduation. Normal teaching degrees take 4 yeas, but my University fast-tracked us by doing summer courses (Dec/Jan) so we can graduate 6 months early. So instead of Graduating in December, I graduated in July :D

My 2018 has been huge! April was gastric bypass surgery. Have lost 150 lbs so far. Lost my sweet little dog ladybug right after thanksgiving. Four days later had a total left knee replacement surgery. My recovery from that has been really good. Learned to have a grateful heart and practice my gratitude writing every morning at 630 am. Losing my dad at the end of 2018 was by far the hardest thing ive done in my life. It still hasnt hit me like I thought it would. I of course have my good and bad days but I am confident that my dad is at peace now with the heavenly father and other loved ones. I know now that I have the best guardian angel and without a doubt know he is guiding me through life. 2018 has taught me so much, to be grateful for your friends and family, MAKE MEMORIES because those are the things you will cherish, and to always tell your family you love them.

my 6 year old Son kept asking if he was adopted cause his last name is different than his siblings and they all have same dad which it was confusing to him that the hospital he was born at wouldn’t let him have his dads last name cause I wasn’t married at the time so. This year we went to a lawyer and then court after 1500 bucks later my son has the last name that u should have had from the beginning and he didn’t know we did that till he came home and opened up the gift he had that had the court order in it saying his whole name and the look on his face and his expression was the best. And then that day we got out of court I went to school and got it changed there but they didn’t do anything till next day so when he walked into his classroom the next day it had his first and last name on the desk he was so excited. That was the best part of my year.

Nancy Connell That’s so strange! Just because you weren’t married?! But congrats to your family for all becoming one now. You must be so glad❤️ I’m in Scotland, United Kingdom. Here, it’s standard to take the last name of your father regardless of marriage or the parents relationship with each other. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s optional to even put the father on the birth certificate so for some people there’s no fathers name on their birth certificate, it just remains blank & the child takes mother’s last name. My ex had his dad’s surname up until he turned 16 when he was old enough to legally change it to his mum’s surname (as he didn’t have a relationship with his dad). I think it’s cool that we get choices in this country. I didn’t know it was so strict in other countries.

I survived a near fatal pulmonary embolism. It was caused be a very large tumor on my kidney. I had a very dangerous surgery to remove the tumor, a kidney, a adrenal gland and a graft to my inferior vena cava (all collateral damage from the cancer). I also kicked cancers butt!

I was diagnosed with lung disease at the end of 2017 so 2018 was incredibly hard for me both mentally & physically but I still had an amazing year despite it. My Son turned 18 years old. I was bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding. We welcomed a new Great Niece. Went to 3 other friends weddings. A dear friend turned 100 years old. Went to my first concert at 37 years old 😂 It wasn't all happy tho, we lost some dear friends this year too 💗💙 & our dog had to have surgery she was so poorly🙁 I'm excited for this year, my husband turns 40. My daughter turns sweet 16. We have another Great Nephew on the way. A wedding. My health & fitness journey starts this year (just as soon as I get over this flu! 😥

Loved Boston making a treasure map but not hiding treasure. haha This year was full of ups and downs! We lost my dad to cancer, we sold our first home and bought a new one in a better area, my daughter learned to walk, and both my brothers got engaged! :) I think it is always a good reminder that you can restart your day at any point. That is my goal this year. To find more joy and if I am frustrated or mad to let it go more quickly and restart.
